2008 Romero Banjo Cherry Rim/Honduran Tone Ring Goatskin Head
This Romero 11″ open back banjo truly has the Old Time sound. It’s mellow and round not at all harsh. It plays with ease and is absolutely gorgeous with it’s solid wood construction and lovely appointments. The fingerboard is adorned with a custom evening sky inlay of white mother-of-pearl and silver. and the L-shoes are Star shaped continuing the theme. The natural goatskin head adds to the vintage look and planetary gears make it easy to tune.

Here at Dream Guitars we constantly search for makers that offer something special. We’ve been following Laurent Brondel for several years as he worked at Bourgeois guitars, with Dana Bourgeois and John Slobod and now on his own. At this year’s Montreal Guitar Festival we were wowed by his guitars once again. We just had to bring this little beauty back to Dream Guitars for you, our customers. This Brondel B-2c, is a small body(00) design with simple lines and an elegant aesthetic. It features a cutaway and a fully adjustable neck joint, allowing for neck angle adjustments to insure perfect action at all times. Crafted from gorgeous Cocobolo Rosewood and Carpathis Spruce the voice is rich and vibrant. We are proud to present Laurent Brondel.
2008 McPherson 3.5xp Brazilian/Adirondack
Here we have a McPherson 3.5xp crafted from Brazilian Rosewood and Adirondack Spruce. It’s unclear if McPherson will continue to make Brazilian guitars so this is a great opportunity for our customers. This is of course a classic wood combination that has been proven for a hundred years to produce a voice that is clear, strong and musical. This McPherson is all of those and plays beautifully as well. The offset soundhole works very well in their design and offers the player an earful of beautiful tone.

We are seeing very few used Collings with the Varnish finish, so don’t hesitate on this one.

Michael Greenfield’s G4 model is a manly guitar, a Jumbo with a 17″ lower bout designed for the player that wants power and big bass projection. This guitar is also surprisingly balanced and happy played fingerstyle or strummed. The body is gorgeous Koa and Red Cedar, a proven combination for clarity and warmth and there is plenty of headroom in this monster, don’t believe all you read about Cedar, it is a powerful wood in the right hands. This beauty also sports DUAL BEVELS, a side soundport and a K&K Trinity dual source pickup with the Quantum Trinity Blender included (a $500 pickup system). 2000 Ramirez Centenario Premium Old Brazilian/Cedar
This Centenario, the premier instrument made by Ramirez, was hand selected by our own Paul Heumiller. He chose this guitar not just because it is the finest model Ramirez makes, but for it’s uniquely amazing voice. It is rich and clear with wonderous sustain and power. Every string is alive and musical. Only the finest materials are employed for the Centenario model, from the Ramirez website: “The Centenario Guitar is built in commemoration of the first centennial of the firm, founded in 1882. It is an instrument with very limited production and only the very finest woods, chosen for their beauty, are used in its construction.” This is truly the finest Ramirez that can be obtained and this one is an exceptional example.

Here we have a mint condition Santa Cruz RS model slope shoulder dread based on the old Gibson Roy Smeck design. This is a 12 fret dread with wider nut and saddle spacings so it has the ability to go fingerstyle or flatpick. This is a very versatile design that is perfect for strumming, solo work and fingerstyle pieces. It really does it all. The body is full of energy and power and the sunburst is gorgeous.

Ron Phillips is one of the few custom builders making resonators completely by hand right down to spinning his own cones. This cutaway Parlor design was made popular by Del Rey, one of many fine guitarists who play Phillips resonators. Others include Orville Johnson and the late great, John Jackson. The key element of Phillips resonators is the round attack that is reminiscent of the 1920 Nationals. This guitar has a fat and mellow tone with power to spare. The small body is a joy to hold sitting or standing.

Here we have a very collectible early Breedlove that is just wonderful. This is #64 from 1994 the very year Kim Breedlove joined his brother Larry in Bend, Oregon. Whenever we see an early example from a company you can always sense the excitement the builders must have experience. This one is still in mint condition, loveling cared for for 15 years. The voice is huge, round and deep. All that wonderful Breedlove bass response accompanied by mature spruce trebles that sing out. This is a delight to have for you.

Here we have a highly custom Turner Renaissance RS-6 with a figured Walnut back, sides and top and all finished in high gloss. It also sport wood volume and tone knobs and a figured Walnut headplate as well. The RS-6, make famous by Lindsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac fame, is well known as a professional grade Acoustic/Electric designed to be played amplified on stage. There is absolutely no feedback and the hollow body design and DTAR pickup offer up a naturally acoustic tone. This one is just stunning and in mint condition.

This is the Custom Jazzica archtop guitar from Hofner Guitars of Germany. It features a unique body design that tapers 2 inches from the tail to the neck joint giving it a full body sound but remaining easy to hold. The 16″ lower bout and solid Engelmann Spruce top give it a wonderful response and it sounds great plugged in or acoustically. This is a very cool model from Germany’s top maker of electric guitars, Hofner.
