Brand New Serracini L 0013 Fan Fret, Madagascar Rosewood/Italian Spruce
We’ve been waiting eagerly for this one to arrive, and now that it’s here we’re seriously conflicted about selling it–we want to keep this one ourselves. Davide Serracini has built guitars for exacting musicians like CandyRat’s Luca Stricagnoli, among others, and here he’s applied that attention to detail for a slim L 0013 Fan Fret model that manages to play intimately and sing vigorously at the same time. It’s fantastic. Madagascar Rosewood back and sides pairs with Italian Spruce top, a 25.6-25″ multiscale setup and 13-fret neck join, subtle cutaway and heel contour, and gold EVO frets. An excellent option for the fingerstyle player who moves through numerous styles and tunings and wants one guitar to keep up with them every step of the way–and all of that in a smaller, oh-so-easily-playing package.

2005 Buscarino Grand Cabaret, Tasmanian Blackwood/Cedar
Here we have one of the most stunning Buscarino Grand Cabaret models we have seen to date. This 2005 Grand Cabaret has some truly exquisite appointments, from the Snakewood fingerboard and bridge to the premium Gotoh tuners with Black Pearl buttons, this guitar commands attention. Built from Cedar and Black Acacia, the voice of this Grand Cabaret is all about control and evenness, with a round bass response and crisp cutting trebles. The Cabaret is one of the most versatile guitars we have in the shop, it suits folk to classical and everything in between.

A gorgeous example of John’s flagship nylon crossover, this Cabaret features a carved Honduran Rosewood back with Engelmann Spruce on top, a Barbera saddle pickup, Venetian Cutaway, and slim neck for a play feel familiar for both steel and nylon players. 2016 Pederson EVA-UM, Walnut/Sitka Spruce
Help wanted: this Pederson EVA-UM is having a serious impact on productivity in the office, and needs to find a new home. It is simply too distracting to our staff by the strength of its projection and the clarity across its strings, not to mention its eye-popping good looks. It’s not hard to guess why the Acoustic Guitar Forum voted this the 2016 Guitar Model of the Year.
Claro Walnut back and sides paired with a Bearclaw Sitka Spruce top, all married to an adjustable neck joint, Florentine Cutaway, and offset soundhole, is the complete package for everything from flatpicked fiddle tunes in standard to fingerstyle soundings from the depths of altered tunings. Kevin Pederson’s striking inlays lance across the back of the neck and ring the offset soundhole in an contemporary asymmetrical mosaic. 20 sparkling EVO gold frets across the fretboard for maximum fret longevity, and both an arm bevel for your right hand and a bevelled Florentine Cutaway for your left. Pederson’s pinless bridge and offset soundhole help maximize the top’s resonance (obvious after the first strum, Kevin’s voicing technique is dialed in for articulate bass and juicy trebles).
All wrapped up in an Ameritage case and set up to play like butter from mama’s kitchen: the 2016 Pederson EVA-UM.

2022 George Lowden Master Series F, Koa/Sinker Redwood
A finer Lowden we’ve yet to see. This rare Master Series F Model comes from George Lowden himself, from the master’s hands to ours. To your hands next! Pairing Figured Koa back and sdies with a Sinker Redwood top, George combines a dry/woody fundamental with sweet warmth for a very complete, engrossing voice. Seriously, this Master Series has exquisite note definition and clarity, the kind that allows big chords to ring out in all their glory, and lead runs crisp and defined. For creature comfort, an arm bevel has been added, and to set off the Sinker Redwood top George trimmed out with sparkling green-blue Abalone (matched at the rosette), and enlisted Larry Robinson for a delicate stem and butterfly at the 12th fret.

2019 Michel Belair “Hommage a Daniel Friederich,” Indian Rosewood/Cedar
Canada’s Michel Belair has rendered a faithful homage to one of Classical Lutherie’s late masters, Daniel Friederich, with this model from 2019. Belair, a professional musician in addition to being a builder, has owned two Friederichs, #557 and #763, the latter of which was used as the basis for this Hommage model. Belair was able to use Friederich’s personal notes from that build in order to dial in every aspect of the build, from the density and deflection of the Cedar top (with matching grain and coloration to the original) to the interior side laminations of Mahogany (Rosewood outside) and Rodgers tuners. The result is phenomenal. The instrument sings; clarity across all the registers, with a powerful and balanced bass response that pairs well with sweet, articulate trebles.

2019 Michel Brück Double Top, Brazilian Rosewood/Cedar
A rare delight which we are so grateful to offer up today: a 2019 Michel Brück Double Top with Brazilian Rosewood and Cedar. The quality of the tonewoods and the fit and finish alone makes for an exquisite instrument. Then there’s the sheer amount of color and dynamism, power and projection, that Brück manages to coax out of the build—that’s what makes this a lifetime instrument. Rodgers tuners add elegance to the aesthetic package, and a slim build weight just over three pounds makes this an effortless guitar to play; and with an elevated fingerboard you’ve got better access to those uppermost frets. Additionally, Brück added side dots at the fifth and seventh frets for creature comfort. This one is in a class all its own.

2010 Henderson 000-42, Brazilian Rosewood/Adirondack Spruce
Here’s a Henderson that stands apart. Not only were Wayne’s legendary hands involved—Rudie Blazer (of Blazer & Henkes), John Arnold, and Don Wilson all pitched in for this 2010 000-42. Old-growth Brazilian Rosewood back and sides (plus headstock veneer); Red Spruce top that Arnold harvested after Hurricane Opal; Mahogany neck block from a 150-year-old mantle; hand engraved tuners from Blazer & Henkes’ shop. The list goes on. The neck is carved in an homage to blues guitar necks of old, and is chunky in hand and features a 1 7/8” nut to boot. Don’t be scared, we found this neck to be effortlessly playable, and quite comfortable. There’s a familiarity and confidence that comes from having good contact with the neck along your hand, and this one has that in spades. Dark blue Abalone bedecks the Red Spruce top with black purflings to really set it off, and the Ivoroid bindings bring it all together. This 000-42 is 100% a Henderson, but the top is signed by everyone to further set this one apart. 2007 Somogyi OMC, Brazilian Rosewood/European Spruce
We suspect this guitar was already powerful and clear when Ervin finished the build in 2007–and the intervening years have only built upon that solid foundation. The voice now is rich and open, with a blooming bass register and round trebles. This is an excellent example of the matured Somogyi voice. Brazilian Rosewood body with European Spruce top in an OM Cutaway design that pairs his strong bass register with an expansive and articulate midrange and trebles. Exceptional balance across the ranges. The aesthetics are characterized by a delicate, understated motif at the rosette and carved bridge, with some intricacy and drama added with the position markers.

This 2023 G.6CAM is an articulate powerhouse with great dynamic range. Brazilian Rosewood back and sides against an Italian Spruce top, multiscale setup you can coax all the way down to C (or even B) territory on the bass, and twin arm/rib bevels for maximum ergonomic ease of play.

1992 Klein Electric, Bubinga
This 1992 Klein Electric is an experience, such that it proves difficult to keep one’s head while playing. Pun intended. Fully loaded with Alembic Activator pickups– In the HSS configuration. A full tonal palate that leaves one wanting nothing else. Alongside the Steinberger TransTrem System, this instrument is ready to give anything you ask of it. This solid body guitar is constructed of Bubinga, and its heft doesn’t lie solely in its timbre, however, the ergonomic design of Klein’s electric guitars provides this guitar with a sense of stability not often felt in electric guitars. Very much a, “Look Ma! No Hands!” scenario. This guitar is nearly effortless to play. To top it all off, we are selling this guitar for guitarist, composer and fearless improvisor–Henry Kaiser. Which if you’re familiar with his work, the lively pickguard should come as no surprise.

2002 Olson Jumbo Cutaway, Indian Rosewood/Spruce
Pack a little more oomph in your Olson experience with this 2002 Jumbo! Jim’s so well known for his SJs, but pound for pound we love his fulltilt Jumbos too: you get all the sparkle and balance that are standard to one of Jim’s guitars, but with the added depth and presence that only a bigger box can offer. Indian Rosewood body with Sitka Spruce top, florentine cutaway, and Jim further upgraded this beauty wiht striking Abalone trim for the top and rosette, plus headstock, and inlaid intricate fleur-de-lis style position markers along the fingerboard.

Who wouldn’t want a 1998 Kim Walker Nick Lucas L-00? Crafted with Mahogany back and sides plus Sitka Spruce on top and sporting a beautiful dark vintage sunburst, no less. The headplate is adorned with a custom Deco style Inlay in Blue Paua Abalone that complements the custom 12th fret marker for an overall understated aesthetic. Waverly tuners with Ivoroid buttons match the body and neck bindings on this sharp-dressed deep body L-00. Kim’s trademark thin finish allows the guitar to breathe, so the player gets every last ounce of delicious tone. Add a Rosewood fingerboard and bridge, and you’ve got a sweet L-00 Kim Walker for your forever collection.

2012 Claxton EMC, Brazilian Rosewood/Spruce
Here we’ve landed a fantastic example of Ed Claxton’s EMC model from 2012 with dramatically figured Brazilian Rosewood back and sides, Spruce top, Padauk bindings and appointments, and a subtle combination of Snakewood and Brazilian Rosewood for the headstock veneers. Aside from a geometric mosaic rosette, Ed’s aesthetic emphasizes the equality and beauty of the woods themselves. This is an excellent example of a modern fingerstyle guitar that has a clean palette of tones, which is to say you can adapt this guitar for a wide range of styles very easily. Comes wrapped up in a custom Calton flight case for maximum security.
