2001 Sobell Model 1 Brazilian/European
We delivered this amazing Sobell Model 1back in 2001 to a great client who studied with Martin Simpson and DG owner Paul Heumiller. At that time Stefan had a stash of wonderful dark, Brazilian and this Model 1 Sobell features a perfect set of it. The tone of this Model 1 is incredibly rich thanks to this very special Old Growth Brazilian Rosewood back and sides and European Spruce top. This guitar is also stunningly gorgeous all around, with birdsfoot Rosette and trim and tri-color purfling. Incredibly playable and hard to put down. The label is signed by Martin Simpson and Stefan Sobell. It also includes an English made Calton Flight Case.

2007 Maingard 000-12 Brazilian/Adirondack
An amazing instrument built by Marc Maingard himself. Excellent, rich tones from the Adirondack Spruce top and wonderfully figured Brazilian Rosewood back and sides. A fingerstylist’s dream, this 000-12 features even action with tonal consistency all the way up the neck. The festive Ndeble Triangle rosette in Red and Green and ornate Bird Of Paradise headstock inlay add an unmistakably South African flavor to this gorgeous instrument.

New Beard Odyssey Camphor Burl/Sitka
With the Odyssey, Paul Beard has once again raised the bar for what a resonator can sound like. This is one of the first few available anywhere in the country — the first run was snatched up by Vince Gill and other Nashville A-listers.
We custom ordered this amazing version of Paul Beard newest model, The Odyssey. The Camphor Burl back and sides have to be seen to be believed; the natural patterns in the wood are stunning and deep and hypnotically kaleidoscopic, but looks are only a part of it. The sound of these guitars has been described as “huge.” This fine instrument has great bass content, rich, full satisfying volume, and just the right amount of bluesy snarl thanks to the “Legend Tone” polished cone and oval soundhole. The playability of this resonator is perfect in every way. A Fishman Spider pickup and Aura imaging pedal are also included.

2009 Tippin Crescendo Al Petteway Signature African Blackwood/Sinker Redwood
This beautiful Tippin Al Petteway Model Crescendo is dead mint and features wonderful tone from one of the most striking Sinker Redwood tops we’ve ever seen. Bill’s use of Bloodwood in the purfling and rosette highlights the rich rust hues in Redwood, while the slender MOP Sparkle adds a sophisticated amount of shimmer. The Sinker top is paired with rare African Blackwood and together they create a voice that really breathes.
This Tippin Guitar plays like butter with notes that ring out loud and clear all the way up the fretboard. The appointments are too numbered to mention here, but the highlights are the Cocobolo Armrest Bevel, Side Soundport, First Fret Inlay, MOP Sparkle from top to bottom and Black Pearl buttons on the gold Waverly tuners. It’s all wrapped up in a Calton Deluxe Flight case and topped with Al Petteway’s signature at the 12th fret.

2006 Martin OMJM John Mayer Signature Indian/Engelmann
In a few short years, John Mayer has brought an entirely new generation in touch with classic blues. Along the way he has composed a boatload of hit pop tunes too. Known for his great melodic playing, Mayer is equally at home on electric and acoustic guitar. His instrument of choice? A Martin, of course. This John Mayer signature Martin in Indian Rosewood and Engelmann Spruce has sweet, precise tones with smooth action, full bass, and thick trebles. This is a great playing fingerstyle guitar and comes complete with a Martin Gold pickup system.

2005 Martin Custom (Guitar Center model) Indian/Sitka
This is a nice entry level Custom Dreadnought from Martin Guitars. Crafted from solid Indian Rosewood and a particularly silky Sitka Spruce top. It has got a fast slim neck, and is extremely easy to play. The construction is solid throughout, and it is in very good condition. This edition of the classic Martin Dreadnought was made for Guitar Center to be an affordable option for players who seek top notch tonewoods without the costly appointments. This a great player’s instrument.

New Matsuda M1 Brazilian/European
A beautiful, ergonomically crafted instrument from Michihiro Matsuda. The Brazilian Rosewood back and sides and European Spruce top make for a guitar with well balanced, shimmering tone. This wonderfully ornamented has hand inlaid spalted maple in the headplate, purflings framing the fingerboard, an elegant partial rosette and a sculpted bridge.
This Matsuda M1 is delightfully playable. An excellent guitar for fingerstyle play, featuring Michihiro’s trademark ergonomic neck heel carve along with an artistic side soundport executed in Matsuda style. This port blends a sharp corner with a smooth waiste, accented by an exposed interior brace of Maple. Everywhere you look on this instrument you find art, passion and music.

2009 Taylor NS Custom Madagascar/Sitka
This is custom shop Taylor NS ordered with wonderful tonewoods and narrower fingerboard making it an easy to play Crossover Nylon String. For starters just look at this set of Madagascar Rosewood, it’s stunning and adds warmth and richness to the voice. The top is a sublimely silky Sitka Spruce with tons of medullary rays showing it’s quality. The nut is 48 mm or 1 7/8 in. and the string spacing at the saddle is 56 mm or 2 3/16 in. so it will feel very comfortable to the steel string player or Crossover player moving back and forth between instruments. Completing this guitar is a gorgeous Rosette of wood and abalone with great flair. The price as ordered from Taylor was $6320, so you’ll save a bunch as well.

2000 Keller Parlor Indian/Cedar
Michael Keller has been building guitars for a long time. Through the decades his instruments have continued to evolve, into something very special indeed. His guitars are sophisticated and complex, with strong fundamental tones and sparking overtones. We are very proud to offer his wonderful guitars at Dream Guitars. This little Keller Parlor Guitar is a gem of an instrument. Its small Indian/Cedar body is extremely comfortable to hold and the playability is sublime. This is a very fine guitar built by the Luthier who introduces James Olson to Cedar tops. 2004 Moll Quat-Not-Troport Flamed Maple/Adirondack
Simply Stunning Custom Quat-Not-Troport Archtop by Bill Moll. This very special guitar is one of a kind and is based on John Monteleone’s Quattroport design. Outstanding workmanship and incredible tone that has attributes of a Fine Archtop and Flattop and is equally at home playing straight ahead Jazz or Fingerstyle Blues. Excellent volume and clarity thanks to the three extra sound ports on the bass side of the body and the stunningly flamed Bigleaf Maple back and sides and Adirondack Spruce top. There is also a Piezo pickup built in. The tailpiece, fingerboard and pickguard are each crafted from figured Macassar Ebony in stunning detail. Superbly playable, this instrument is an attention-getter.

The Lame Horse Gitjo from Chris and Jeremy Jenkins was made to offer guitarist a chance to make that banjo twang. The six string banjo is not a new concept, however this Lame Horse Gitjo is full of style and has a sound everyone loves. The tone ring is crafted from superbly figured Koa and Maple with a lovely pattern. The multi piece neck meets the body via a thick brass plate that add wonderful sustain and power. 1973 Fender Tele Custom Ash, Mocha Finish Rare Condition!
The pickups in the 70’s Fender Telecaster Customs are legendary for their great tone. Utilizing CuNiFe threaded magnets, this guitar gets a great clean and clear sound in the neck position and has a strong and not brittle sounding bridge. If you love Teles but think they’re too bright, this may be the guitar for you, it is not dark sounding, but it lacks the harsh ice-picky tones some Teles produce.
This 1973 Tele Custom, in Mocha finish, is in rare condition with very little wear for it’s age. This beauty has a significantly thinner neck than its ancestors from the 1950’s. In all, it’s a fun vintage guitar that offers a unique take on the classic Fender sound!
2009 Rick Turner Model 1 Featherweight Macassar Ebony Limited Edition
This is a wonderful limited edition Turner Model 1 Featherweight featuring gorgeous Macassar Ebony for the top, back and headplate. Very few were made with this beautiful wood. The body is a hollow construction with a Cedar center for lightweight and open voicing. This is the guitar made famous by Lindsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac fame and currently played by John Mayer as well. It has the rare ability to produce great acoustic sounds and electric guitar sounds by having both Piezo and Magnetic pickups on board along with the controls to blend them any way you wish. This is a very unique and high-end Turner Model 1 for the discerning player who wants the best.
