With the Odyssey, Paul Beard has once again raised the bar for what a resonator can sound like. This is one of the first few available anywhere in the country — the first run was snatched up by Vince Gill and other Nashville A-listers.
We custom ordered this amazing version of Paul Beard newest model, The Odyssey. The Camphor Burl back and sides have to be seen to be believed; the natural patterns in the wood are stunning and deep and hypnotically kaleidoscopic, but looks are only a part of it. The sound of these guitars has been described as “huge.” This fine instrument has great bass content, rich, full satisfying volume, and just the right amount of bluesy snarl thanks to the “Legend Tone” polished cone and oval soundhole. The playability of this resonator is perfect in every way. A Fishman Spider pickup and Aura imaging pedal are also included.
Steven here at the shop worked with Paul Beard to create something really special. We sorted through many woods and decided on this amazing Camphor Burl with figure that is mind-blowing. We topped it with Spruce for tone and wrapped it in a Gold cone cover and Maple Bindings. It's got a wonderful snarl and twang, but also surprising richness and character. Great for fingers or slide. The pickup combined with the Aura imaging pedal means perfect tone every night.
