1951 Martin D-28, Brazilian Rosewood/Sitka Spruce
A great example of an early ’50s Martin D-28 that’s been played a lot over the years, and is in great playing shape for many more to come. This one comes to us from the period when Martin was still using Brazilian Rosewood back and sides, by the 1950s they were using Sitka Spruce tops. There are some repairs, see our specs tabs for more details, but our repair staff have gone over this instrument from tuners to tail to confirm a clean bill of health. 1951 is a good year with this beauty in your hands.

2021 Henderson 000-42, Brazilian Rosewood/Appalachian Spruce
A premium example of Wayne Henderson’s handiwork, our 2021 000-42 with Brazilian Rosewood and Red Spruce. Gorgeously executed Abalone 42-style trim along the top and fingerboard extension; Grained Ivoroid bindings to transition from pale Appalachian Spruce on top to chocolate-dark (and -rich) Brazilian Rosewood back and sides. Snowflakes, diamonds, and squares along the fingerboard. The neck is slender and fast in hand, and an overall light build weight under four pounds puts this guitar like so many feathers in your hands. The voice is correspondingly energetic and clear.

Keisuke Fujii’s work is synonymous with excellence and meticulous attention to detail, and this 2024 00 is a resounding confirmation of that reputation. Featuring Keyaki back and sides (a signature Fujii tonewood) and a Caucasian spruce top, this guitar is crafted with precision. With EVO frets and a Florentine cutaway, there are many beautiful details in this instrument, from the carved magnetic truss rod cover to the heel cap. A first for us here at Dream Guitars: a 2006 Ruokangas Mojo Grande. All the way from Finland, this Thinline Tele-style guitar is crafted from some rather unique tonewoods. The body is made of Spanish cedar, with a figured Arctic birch top. It features a maple neck and birch fingerboard, both of which, along with the top, have been thermally treated—literally baking in that vintage tone.

2022 Strahm 00, Beeswing Mahogany/Adirondack Spruce
This 2022 00 from Stephen Strahm is punching above its weight class. Typically, small-body guitars share similar qualities—qualities we love. Yet sometimes, a small-body guitar can offer the comfort of a smaller body while delivering the volume, power, and presence of a larger, full-bodied instrument. This one, dressed in beautifully figured Beeswing Mahogany and Adirondack Spruce, does just that. The top is some of the nicest Adirondack we’ve ever heard, with a Granadillo headplate and rosette, allowing for an earthy and natural aesthetic.

Every Calton Case is handcrafted and custom-fit to your instrument.
How are Calton Cases made? By hand and with love. While Calton CNC initial plugs and molds for testing new styles and shapes, once they’ve tested the cases—inside and out—they are made by hand. Without giving away too many secrets, here is how they do it:
- Measurements: we rely on you (and your dealer) for precise measurements of your instruments. This ensures the perfect fit.
- Exterior I: three layers of hand-laid fiberglass build the foundation for the side walls, tops and bottoms of each case.
- Exterior II: once the fiberglass shell is trimmed, up to 97 rivets are used to adhere latches, catch surrounds (leather bumpers), protective feet and a custom leather handle.
- Interior Stage I: gluing of the rubber trim and initial placement of interior fabric, foam and lining.
- Interior Stage II: cutting and assembly of the remaining foam layers and final velvet placement.
- Squeaky Clean: we call this the “detailing” stage where we meticulously polish exteriors and vacuum interiors.
- Final Inspection: every square inch of every case is looked over, making sure it is ready for the road. We add your label (with serial number) and ship!
2009 Greven The 000 Vintage, Madagascar Rosewood/Lutz Spruce
Triple aught magic here with this 2009 Greven 000-Vintage. It features a stunning set of Madagascar Rosewood paired with Lutz Spruce. Lutz is a naturally occurring hybrid of Sitka and White Spruce, making it a delightful tonewood. This guitar also boasts herringbone trim and a V-neck profile, offering an insane amount of quality for an incredible value.

2006 Manzer Baritone, Koa/Spruce
This 2006 Linda Manzer Baritone comes to us with Koa for the back and sides, along with Spruce on top. It’s serendipitous that we received this instrument not long after Pat Metheny released his second solo baritone record, “MoonDial,” using, of course, a guitar crafted by Linda Manzer. This guitar features the Manzer wedge, which has such a positive impact on the comfort of playing a baritone. Tuner buttons and bridge pins made of fossilized walrus ivory, crafted by the one and only John Mickelson. With an Abalone inlaid rosette, this is otherwise a rather understated guitar, letting the natural qualities of the wood do all the talking. It comes with a really cool custom-colored Calton case. If you’ve been wanting to add a baritone to your arsenal, look no further.

1997 Martin OM-42 Paul Simon, East Indian Rosewood/Sitka Spruce
This guitar has diamonds on the soles of its shoes, or at least its fingerboard. From 1997, we have a Martin OM-42 PS (Paul Simon), number 207 out of 500. East Indian Rosewood and Sitka Spruce, classic Martin appointments, and Paul Simon’s signature on the label and inlaid on the fingerboard extension. It could be the gravitas of Paul Simon’s association, but this OM-42 feels pretty dang special. An Indian Rosewood guitar that gives you a lot more than you’d expect: excellent response, clear, powerful, and quite frankly inspirational to play. Whether you’re a Paul Simon fan or simply a Martin OM fan, this guitar has a lot to offer.

2024 Aboudib 00, East Indian Rosewood/Austrian Moonspruce
Our very first from Michel Aboudib, this 00 from 2024, serial number 26, is decked out in Austrian Spruce and East Indian Rosewood and has a lot going on. Michel’s signature style of rosette carving clearly reflects an original continuation of his time working with the one and only Ervin Somogyi. The satin neck feel, in contrast to the gloss body, is always a favorite combo for us here at the shop, and the feel of this neck, in particular, is quite comfortable. The detail in the bridge carving is incredibly stunning. So much work and detail are present in the appearance of this instrument—not to mention the sound. But we’ll let you hear and see that for yourself!
