This 2006 Linda Manzer Baritone comes to us with Koa for the back and sides, along with Spruce on top. It’s serendipitous that we received this instrument not long after Pat Metheny released his second solo baritone record, “MoonDial,” using, of course, a guitar crafted by Linda Manzer. This guitar features the Manzer wedge, which has such a positive impact on the comfort of playing a baritone. Tuner buttons and bridge pins made of fossilized walrus ivory, crafted by the one and only John Mickelson. With an Abalone inlaid rosette, this is otherwise a rather understated guitar, letting the natural qualities of the wood do all the talking. It comes with a really cool custom-colored Calton case. If you’ve been wanting to add a baritone to your arsenal, look no further.

The use of drier tonewoods like Koa for baritone guitars is truly exceptional, imparting a punch that other guitars simply don't have. And when it comes to craftsmanship, Linda Manzer is undoubtedly one of the greats. This guitar is a prime example of her artistry and would bring joy to any player. 
Linda's baritone stands out to me with its full and articulate trebles which pair nicely against crisp, fairly dry bass and mids. There's a great balance between fundamental and overtone, resulting in a kind of clarity not often heard on baritones. 1 in stock
