New Flammang GC50-L Indian/Sitka

This new GC50-L has got Flammang’s characteristic brightness and attack in spades here, thanks in part to the classic pairing of East Indian Rosewood and Sitka Spruce, and in part by Flammang’s Lowden-inspired top bracing. With a shockingly clear upper register (like jumping in an alpine lake) and a warm low-end (like a roaring fire in winter), this guitar is one that folks won’t want to put down. Flammang’s skills are top-notch, and his understated appointments, from the elegantly carved Ebony bridge to the oval soundhole and Abalone rosette, are deceptively subtle camouflage for this livewire of a Grand Concert. Complete with a Guardian hardshell case, this GC50-L will be making beautiful music for the rest of its long life.

1965 Gibson J-45 Mahogany/Sitka
This Beautiful Gibson Amber burst J-45 hits all of our vintage buttons. The time honored combination of mahogany and spruce gives this little sweetheart a great growl perfect for flatpicking. New Hickler Old Time Walnut & Maple/Skin
This is a Hickler Old Time Banjo with a multiple piece tone ring crafted from Walnut & Maple. It features a Flamed Maple neck and Ebony fingerboard adorned with vintage style fret markers. There is a sliding capo installed, a well intonated bridge and the fretboard is scalloped for clawhammer. It’s a great custom made Banjo for any player in the old time tradition.

Taylor Guitars T5-S1 Honduran Mahogany/Flamed Maple

2004 Beardsell Style 2 Cherry/Spruce
Here we have a Beardsell Style 2 in Cherry and Spruce. This Style 2 has a big, raucous voice that is unique and fully engrossing, reminiscent of a great Selmer guitar. This one excels at jazz and single line soloing in a larger setting, but has the versatility to emote even intricate fingerstyle in more intimate surroundings. 1998 Rivero Classical Brazilian/Cedar
Here we have a Rivero classical in Cedar and Brazilian Rosewood. This Rivero is a delight to hear, it has a wonderful breathiness of tone that makes this guitar seem almost alive when played. Traditional Spanish pieces really shine when played on this guitar. It has a lovely balance from bass to treble that keeps complex notation clear and precise. 2010 Henderson D-18 Mahogany/Adirondack (Red)
This Henderson D-18 in Red Spruce and Mahogany is how a pre war style guitar should be done, and is a perfect example of why Henderson guitars are so sought after. This thing is a flatpicking cannon, it would be hard to find a better suited flatpicking guitar. When you pick this guitar up you instantly realize why Wayne is so well regarded in the guitar world. His guitar are light as a feather, superbly built, and sound like heaven. This is as good as it gets in the D-18 world, if you are looking for the wholly grail of bluegrass guitars, look no further.

2006 Beneteau Dream Series Nick Lucas Brazilian/Adirondack
Our Dream Series with Marc Beneteau has been extremely popular and here’s a rare chance at a preowned example. This is #1 of the limited edition of 5 we commissioned from Marc. Based on the Gibson Nick Lucas models of the 1930s, this is a small body, 13 fret guitar with strong energy and vintage tone. The Brazilian set on this one is very well quartered with lovely ink lines and rich, contrasting hues. This one is topped with Adirondack for power and that classic vintage style voicing. The deep mahogany brown sunburst, 30s style inlays, and double abalone rosette make this one of the best lookers you’re likely to ever encounter.

2011 Cornerstone (Peter Marreiros) SJ Brazilian/Red Cedar
Here we have a custom, Mint condition custom Cornerstone guitar in Brazilian Roswood and Red Cedar by luthier Peter Marreiros. Originally built for renowned nylon string player Rodrigo Rodriguez, this steel string guitar has a 1 15/16″ (49 mm) wide nut, making it ideal for someone transitioning from nylon to steel or the fingerstylist looking for a wider neck. The combination of Brazilian and Cedar gives this guitar incredible responsiveness and clarity, with truly pianistic note separation. And while the slotted headstock and 12 fret body joint hearken back to classical roots, this one has modern fingerstyle appointments like a Ryan style arm bevel, custom leaf-shaped soundport. This is a guitar that sounds stunning and can fill a large room by itself, ready to go on the main stage!

New Flammang RS35 Mahogany/Adirondack (Red)
David Flammang is building some of the nicest vintage style guitars around. Everything we have played from David has been expertly crafted and has a voice that is rich and warm. This RS35 in Red Spruce and Mahogany Harkins back to Gibsons gone by, with that throaty growl of Mahogany and the power of Red Spruce. David finished the top on this one with a fun sparkle lacquer, it is the first time we have seen this done here at the shop and it is a nice touch. Flammang guitars are among the classiest guitars on the market, if you are looking for a beautiful, vintage style guitar, look no further.

New Stotzel Zoe Small Jumbo Wenge/German
This is our first guitar from German luthier Wilm Stotzel, and it is quickly becoming a shop favorite. This is Wilms Zoe Small Jumbo model in German Spruce and Wenge, and it sings out with full round basses and powerful trebles. Wilm attended one of Ervin Somogyi’s voicing classes and the inspiration shows in this build. He achieved a balanced tone here perfectly suited for complex fingerpicking melodies, but versatile enough for light struming and flatpicking as well. This guitar draws the player in and inspires endless playtime, it is a true joy.
We loved this one so much that we teamed up with Al Petteway and recorded it on our latest album: Dream Guitars Volume II Hand Picked. It is Track #4 – When We Were Young.

1980 Franklin OM #3 Brazilian/German
Nick kukich has always impressed us with these Franklin guitars, they are superbly voiced with a wide open sound that just envelopes the player. Franklins are in high demand, as soon as we get one in you can count on them heading back out again in no time. This OM in German Spruce and Brazilian Rosewood, has aged beautifully and will almost vibrate off of your lap. It is just that responsive and ready to make music! Once Again Nick Kukich proves why his guitars are so sought after, this is a killer guitar that needs a great home!

New Lambe A Style with F Holes Figured Maple/Sitka
This is an A style Mandolin in Sitka Spruce and Flamed Maple from luthier Wes Lambe. Wes is a newcomer to us here at Dream Guitars and he has set himself a high standard with everything we have seen. The build quality and voicing on this mando are fantastic – it has a great “chop” but also a warmth and charisma that we don’t often find in A styles. Volume is something you won’t have to worry about with this mandolin, you can play it sweet and soft or really dig into it if you are in a bluegrass jam.

2000 Palen Archtop Flamed Maple/Sitka
Here we have a gorgeous Palen Archtop in Sitka Spruce and Flamed Maple. This Palen immediately draws the eye as soon as you walk into the room, the sunburst has been beautifully executed over the whole instrument. The tone of this archtop can easily keep up with its looks. We played it unplugged first and were surprised by the richness of tone we achieved, Then we plugged it in, and that is the game changer. The stereo pickup combines magnetic and piezo for a wonderful acoustic tone and incredible versatility.
