Froggy Bottom Guitars makes some of the most respected traditional American instruments on the market, faithfully recreating a guitar that, from the feel and sound of it, you would swear had been maturing for decades. The stunning, straight grained Adirondack Spruce top gives this instrument incredible headroom and presence. Combine that with a slightly deeper body and beautiful, chocolatey Brazilian Rosewood, and you have a guitar with focus and sweetness and warmth. With bass that, unless you’re looking down as you play, you would swear belonged to a much larger guitar, this welterweight instrument can keep up with even the heavy hitters. Hiro Ebata, like Michi Matsuda and Mario Beauregard, apprenticed in the shop of the great master Luthier Ervin Somogyi. Hiro is now building from his own shop in Japan and carrying his teachers work proudly within his own. This Ebata D guitar is a fingerstyle Dreadnought modeled on the Somogyi Modified D design. The Madagascar Rosewood and European Spruce body is more curvey than a standard D, so it’s easier to hold when sitting and will also suit player that hold the guitar on the left leg. The deep cutaway provides easy access to the entire fingerboard. The voice is angelic, big and open, a modern fingerstyle guitar in every way. Hiro also includes elegant touches like the fine perflings on every surface including the sides and a perfectly compensated saddle.

A fantastic Tamarack from Mark Blanchard. Featuring a Manzer Wedge shaped body of Panama Rosewood and European Spruce. You immediately hear the clarity and power of each individual string. It is extremely balanced and the melody string ring out strong, making fingerpicking a joy. It also strums very well and the wedge body makes it very comfortable. The tone of this guitar is bright and rich in mids and highs.The cutaway makes access to the higher frets a breeze. Here’s a lovely custom Blanchard Bristlecone featuring East Indian Rosewood and Engelmann Spruce. The natural warmth of the Engelmann is complimented very well by the Indian Rosewood, yielding a very balanced tone with punchy, crisp bass and sparkling highs. Capable of beautiful fingerstyle tones and also strong enough for strumming. There is also a venetian cutaway, abalone rosette and bound peghead. Another superb Blanchard Guitar.
