2005 Alberico OM Indian/Red Cedar
Fabrizio Alberico is one of the modern builders who is well known for the incredible build quality, playability and tone his guitars offer. This is a very cleanly built guitar and you can tell it comes from a builder who loves his craft. I had the pleasure of meeting Fab at the Swannanoa Gathering one summer and he is a very genuine individual and his love of music comes through in his guitars. This OM, named ‘Emma’, has an articulate and sweet voice. The Cedar top is warm and full sounding while the rosewood adds power and brilliance. The setup is perfect and we love the small sound port that allows the player to hear it in detail.

2004 Martin OMC-28 Laurence Juber Indian/Adirondack
Here is a 2004 Martin OMC-28 Laurence Juber Signature Edition, #32 of 133 made. This one is Indian Rosewood and Adirondack Spruce for power and clarity. It’s easy to see why Laurence would put his name inside this model Martin. It is one that they are really doing well. That great Martin OM voice complete with a cutaway for full access and lovely tonewoods. This is a great fingerstyle Martin OMC.

2007 Collings 00 1M All Mahogany
Here’s a near mint Collings 00 1MH, all-mahogany beauty! This little sweetheart has a wonderful throaty growl that is perfect for blues and rags. The voice is punchy and powerful perfect for fingerstyle play, but it also strums up surprisingly well. Tortoise style bindings complete the dark elegance of this Collings 00-1MH, a prize!

2010 Collings 000 1AC Mahogany/Adirondack
The Varnish finish is the icing on the cake of this powerful Collings 000 1AC. The lightweight finish allows all of the tone to come out. That’s a good thing because the voice is something special. This is a 000 cannon, with a big Mahogany/Adirondack voice complete with fat treble notes and snappy bass. Perfect for blues and rags, but also has a sweet side when played lightly. An all-around, versatile Collings 000-1A Cutaway!

1930 Martin 0-18K Figured Koa/Koa
Here is a super clean and rare 1930 Martin 0-18K, all Koa. This one is particularly unique in that the Koa is highly figured, something you don’t see on many 18 models. This little sweetheart has a voice that will melt you, it’s rich and lively and it’s super responsive. It’s a very lightweight 0-18K and you feel every note you play in your arms and chest. It has the characteristic dry, woody sound you would expect from a 1930 Martin, but this one has a bit of extra mojo as well. It’s very full and rich sounding for a small body guitar. We love it!
1944 Martin D-18 Mahogany/Adirondack (Red)
This amazing 1944 Martin D-18 comes to us from legendary musician David Grisman. David told us it had a sweet voice and great power, and he was right. We all love this guitar here at the shop. It is super lightweight and has a very woody voice with powerful trebles that are full and rich. The bass makes the entire lightweight body tremble and quake. It is setup beautifully, as you would expect since it was owned by David Grisman. This 1944 has all the specs of a 1943 Martin D-18, scalloped bracing included. Here’s you chance to have one of the last great Martins, and one with great provenance to boot.

New Veillette Gryphon 12 String Mahogany/Sitka
Call for best price! Over the years Joe Veillette has worked for a long list of star clients which include the likes of Dave Matthews, Jorma Kaukonen, David Lindley, Kaki King, Ani DiFranco and many others. Often his work included designing unique instruments to fit the needs of pro musicians. His newest design is this, the Gryphon High Tuned 12 string guitar. In short the Gryphon is a 18.5″ scale 12 string guitar tuned up to high D, just below the octave of normal guitar tuning. This gives the Gryphon a mandolin-like sound, though much more colorful and musical, yet it can be played like a regular guitar. Our first reaction was utter amazement at the lush tone and we can see this being extremely useful in many settings from stage to recording. This beauty is Mahogany/Spruce with the 18v DTAR Timberline Pickup and hardshell case.

2000 Manuel Rodriguez Jr. Concert Brazilian/Spruce
Here we have a Manuel Rodriguez Jr. Pro Classic Concert guitar in Brazilian Rosewood and Spruce. Adorned with etched gold tuners with Ivory buttons, a gorgeous floral rosette and birdsfoot top trim, this is one pretty Rodriguez guitar. The voice is warm and lush with abundant power in the bass. It plays beautifully over the entire fingerboard. The Brazilian Rosewood has some sapwood that adds a natural beauty to this elegant concert guitar.

2008 Bellucci Concert Shortscale, Lattice Braced Bolivian/Spruce

2001 Merrill C-18 Mahogany/Adirondack
Here is a gorgeous Merrill C-18 built for power and tone. Hand built using vintage specifications, top grade Mahogany and Adirondack Spruce and vintage design. The braces are hand scalloped to 1930’s Martin specifications, with high X-brace. This one has a gorgeous Sunburst and tortoise bindings that complete the vintage vibe. Great playability and all that wonderful Merrill Tone.

New Brown Hauser Brazilian/Carpathian
Lawrence Brown is one of the very few Luthier’s who has built over 1,800 instruments. In addition to fine guitars he has built many Lutes and was on the board of the Lute Society of America. Here we have a 1937 Hauser model built to the exact specs as the famous Hauser played by Segovia. This one features very old Brazilian Rosewood and Carpathian Spruce. The voice is very alive, with great power in the trebles and a lovely G string. The bass notes are clear and vibrant as well. This is one very rewarding concert guitar to hold and to play.

1989 Sobell 0 Indian/European
This fine Sobel Model O was formerly owned by Alistair Russell of Battlefield Band. A joy to play, like all Sobells, it is a great sounding guitar that has opened up nicely from being played over the years. European Spruce over Indian Rosewood, with the distinctive Sobell cutaway and oval soundhole. These instruments truly deserve the reverence they are given by professional players around the world. A fine example of Sobell’s work. Comes complete with a pickup and a Calton case that boasts many stickers from it’s travels with Alistair Russell.

2011 Woolson SIG Model African Mahogany/Adirondack
This Paul Woolson SIG model Double Top guitar has us all smiling here at the shop. The voice from the Double top Adirondack(outer) and Lutz(inner) Spruce and African Mahogany body is bold and rich. The short 24.9″ scale makes for sweet and full treble strings and the side soundport insure you hear plenty of the round bass as well. Wider fingerstyle spacing makes it play as beautiful as it sounds and looks and the armrest bevel is super comfortable. Complete with a Jeff Hoffee Carbon Fiber Flight Case – our favorite. A very special guitar indeed.

New Tippin Crescendo Pink Ivory/Yellow Cedar
This was a wonderful custom order project for a client of Dream Guitars. Bill Tippin really created an other-worldly guitar in this elegant Pink Ivory and Alaskan Yellow Cedar Crescendo model. All of the appointments are one-of-a-kind and the inlays feature several exotics shells. The craftsmenship is sublime, something Tippin guitars are known for. The tone is nothing short of magical. 1962 Conde Hermanos Flamenco Cypress/Spruce
Here we have a super lightweight and fast vintage Conde Hermanos Flamenco guitar from 1962. This one was sold by Locker’s in Philadelphia and has their lable atop the original Conde Hermanos label. This one plays beautifully and it’s fast. Aside from an old headstock repair it’s a solid performing guitar. Perfect for the serious student of Flamenco music. It has the authentic sound.
