The Varnish finish is the icing on the cake of this powerful Collings 000 1AC. The lightweight finish allows all of the tone to come out. That’s a good thing because the voice is something special. This is a 000 cannon, with a big Mahogany/Adirondack voice complete with fat treble notes and snappy bass. Perfect for blues and rags, but also has a sweet side when played lightly. An all-around, versatile Collings 000-1A Cutaway!
I've always loved a 000 body. It produces a powerful, driving sound with superb projection. The varnish finish really lets the tone shine and the Collings playability is always perfect. A truly fine, Collings 000, with all the mojo! 
Another winner from Collings, probably the best large producer of modern acoustics. I have never played a Collings that wasn't really nice and this one excels in looks and sound.
