1956 Gibson J-50 Mahogany/Spruce
This 1956 Gibson J-50 would be a good strummer or folk guitar, just like it was when it was new. The neck is streamlined and comfortable for someone who has relatively small hands. The Mahogany/Spruce body puts forth that classic Gibson tone that we all know and love from so many great recordings. This one is very original and setup great.

Here’s an awesome 1968 Martin D-28 Brazilian Rosewood. The Spruce top has the wonderful patina of age that shows it’s maturity and the voice shows the same character. It’s open and lively with trebles that zing and bass that booms. Bluegrassers and singer-songwriters a like will love this vintage Martin D-28. The rare Brazilian Rosewood is a gorgeous set that is dark and rich with straight grain. A great D-28 from yesteryear.

Here’s a wonderful 1969 Gibson J-50 Diamond Jubilee brought to us by a local gent who played it for years. It has that dry, throaty Mahogany Dread sound that is so engrained in our music. Strum a G chord and it fills the room with that great J-50 chime. We had Master Luthier Bill Tippin go over it and it now plays like a new guitar and will need nothing for years. Here’s a Petros FS (Fingerstyle) in Indian Rosewood and Sitka Spruce. Also featuring a cutaway for easy access to the end of the fingerboard. Bruce Petros’ FS model is a 00 size guitar with a full, airy, modern fingerstyle voice that is great for many style of music. The Sitka Spruce top here is quite a nice one with lots of medullary rays and tight grain. Like all Petros, this one is extremely easy to play and the slim Petros neck profile is always a favorite.

This is a Custom Shop Gibson L-4 CES Archtop guitar. These are made from solid Mahogany for the body and carved Spruce top. This example from 2005 is near mint and obviously well cared for. The setup is perfect and it plays fast and easy. The acoustic voice is lively and plugged in it’s full and fat. A great Gibson design.
2011 Kinnaird CS Pao Ferro/Engelmann
Here’s an amazing sounding Kinnaird CS model in Pao Ferro and Engelmann Spruce. Beautifully appointed with a side sounport, Macassar Ebony bindings on the head, fingerboard and neck and featuring tone galore. This Stephen Kinnaird guitar has a voice much bigger than it’s 15 1/2″ body might suggest and the port give the player a full rich earful. This guitar has great balance and clarity and the 13 Fret neck keeps the bridge nearer the sweetspot and you can really hear it in the lovely treble strings. This one has a wide fingerboard as well. A wonderful mid size guitar with a big sound.

This is one of the very special vintage 1953 Martin 00-18 guitars. This one was once owned by blues guitarist Paul Geremia and recently by songwriter Cheryl Wheeler. It has the real deal tone that everybody looks for in an old Martin. It’s very loud and clear. We had master luthier Bill Tippin do a neck set, refret, make a new nut and saddle and replace the tuners. So this nearly 60 year old Martin 00 plays like a new guitar, only it’s better because it sounds old!

Their shop in Barcelona is one of the finest and they have worked on such historic guitars as the famous Paper-Mache guitar that Torres built to prove the importance of the top in guitar design. This guitar now resides in the Museu de la Musica in Barcelona. So the brothers clearly know all about building the finest classical guitars. This guitar is a showpiece with extermely fine and detailed perflings and premium woods. It took years to be completed and is a rare collectible as well as an extraordinary musical instrument. We custom ordered this amazing Matt Artinger Figured Redwood Chambered Singlecut. This stunning guitar features a highly figured Redwood top finished in a beautiful translucent burst. The dark edges of the top blend perfectly with the black Electric City P-90/60 pickups (with an overwound bridge) and controls. A deep cutaway insure that you will enjoy the famous Artinger playability all the way up to the last fret. This guitar has great sustain but is lightweight thanks to the chambered body. It has killer punch from the spanky P-90 pickups and can handle a wide range of music. This one will bring any collection up a notch.
2009 Bourgeois JOMC Brazilian/Adirondack
This is a Bourgeois JOMC made for the Winter NAMM show in 2009 and numbered #9 of 10. This Jumbo OM Cutaway has all the best materials as you would expect in a show guitar. The Brazilian rosewood is dark and rich, the Adirondack top is superb with even grain. Together they give this Bourgeois guitar a punchy voice with full bass and articulate trebles. The 15 1/2″ body adds big bass response to go along with the OM style projection. This guitar strums as well as it fingerpicks making it a very capable gigging guitar as well.

Bill Tippin made us this wonderful custom Staccatto model from old growth Cuban Mahogany any Alpine Spruce. He appointed it will natural wood elements, like the Koa top perfling and 1st fret inlay. So it has an understated beauty and elegance. But he put all the tone in this little beast. It is strong and enchanting sounding. It’s like a 000 stuffed inside a single 0 body. It’s a versatile small body guitar that can cover a lot of styles and it handles fingers and pick both very well. With it’s 24.9″ scale it’s easy to hold and play all day long.

Here is a super clean Tippin DST, 12 Fret Slope Shoulder Dreadnought. This beast is crafted from Mahogany and Adirondack for a vintage tone. It features a 1 3/4″ neck so it suits fingerstyle as well as being a flatpicking cannon. This is a very versatile guitar, very similar to the one Martin Simpson had built for himself some years ago. The voice is clear and bold with strong trebles. This is a great guitar for single line work, strumming and a great fingerstyle guitar for the player wanted a full Dreadnought voice.
