1988 Ramirez 1A Indian/Cedar
Here we have a wonderful Ramirez 1a from 1988. This instrument is crafted from Indian Rosewood and topped with Red Cedar for that warm and dark Spanish sound. The playability is excellent and the condition is as well. The tone is powerful yet focused, the trebles are huge and fire quickly. The bass is round and warm but not at all muddy. This is a wonderful example of the 1a model.

2004 Moreira Concert Brazilian/Red Cedar
Rodrigo Moreira is a Brazilian luthier who makes wonderful guitars featuring premium Brazilian Rosewood that he has access to in his homeland. This Concert guitar has some play wear which makes it a tremendous value for someone seeking superb tone and top notch woods, but who doesn’t mind some character. This one is structurally perfect and plays great . The tone is very alive and vibrant. The trebles sing and the bass supports, just like a great concert guitar should.

2005 Hamblin SJ Macassar Ebony/Italian
This is a striking Hamblin SJ crafted from dramatic striped Ebony and a premium Italian Spruce top. The Ebony makes for tremendous sustain and big push of energy off the back that makes this a very loud and immediate guitar. Italian Spruce is one of the very strongest top woods we have and it always provides great clarity and sparkle in addition to power. This is a guitar with a big voice that is well suited for any style where volume is appreciated but it’s also a lovely voice and allows you to emote when played more softly.

New Veillette Gryphon High Tuned 12 String Honduran Mahogany/Spruce
Over the years Joe Veillette has worked for a long list of star clients which include the likes of Dave Matthews, Jorma Kaukonen, David Lindley, Kaki King, Ani DiFranco and many others. Often his work included designing unique instruments to fit the needs of pro musicians. His newest design is this, the Gryphon High Tuned 12 string guitar. In short the Gryphon is a 18.5″ scale 12 string guitar tuned up to high D, just below the octave of normal guitar tuning. This gives the Gryphon a mandolin-like sound, though much more colorful and musical, yet it can be played like a regular guitar. Our first reaction was utter amazement at the lush tone and we can see this being extremely useful in many settings from stage to recording. New Cervantes Crossover 1 Indian/Cedar
The Cervantes Crossover is one of our most popular guitars. Players of all styles from Brazilian to Jazz to Classical are drawn to the unique combination of serious tone and great playability. This guitar features a cutaway, narrower nut, radiused fingerboard and truss rod. The voice is clear, crisp and contemporary. It is very well balanced and articulate. This one has a Cedar top and bit more warmth and smooth midrange.

2006 Wingert FVC Indian/German
Here we have a wonderful Kathy Wingert Model F Grand Auditorium crafted from Master Grade Indian Rosewood and Master Grade German Spruce. It’s wrapped in rich curly Koa bindings and features a venetian cutaway. Kathy’s F model is big, but easy to hold. This model has wonderful full bass response, but Kathy’s strong trebles have no trouble maintaining balance. Kathy’s voicing is alway rich and strong with great weight to the treble strings making for fat, sweet melody notes. While she’s known primarily for building fingerstyle guitars, this particular F is versatile enough for strumming and pick.

For the first of our limited edition Dream Series from Charlie Hoffman we asked him to refine this Concert body shape to give it more elegant curves. The result is a stunning body shape that is more modern and sophisticated. The key element of this Dream Series is rare old growth Brazilian Rosewood renowned for it’s clarity, warmth and power. We chose German Spruce make this guitar versatile, German is known for both it’s beautiful voice and it’s projection. Charlie added figured Koa bindings and an Florentine cutaway to make this a very special limited edition series.

2006 Blanchard Tamarack Curly Koa/European
We are big fans of Mark Blanchard’s guitars. Here we have a stunning wedge body fashioned from a serious set of highly flamed Koa with very tight curl and topped with European Spruce. The Manzer Wedge design makes the body thinner up at your chest so it’s easier to hold with less fatigue, great for anyone with shoulder issues. The voice of this guitar is bright and crisp as you would expect from Koa, but also lush and refined with Mark’s trademark magical ability to brace for tone. This one is great for fingerstyle but also has the power for rhythm and chordal work.

New Forster Model C Panamanian Rswd/Italian
Here’s our latest arrival from ex-Sobell phenom Nigel Forster. This model C cutaway is crafted from Panamanian Rosewood and Italian Spruce that Nigel hand selected in Italy. The design of this guitar is a shallow body that taper at the outer edges making it very easy to hold. But there is surprising bass response for it’s depth and wonderful projection both in front and as the player, thanks to the side soundport. The radiused top and back design also makes this a guitar with superb separation and clarity. If you seek a European voice (think Simpson, Renbourn, Carroll, etc.) this may be your guitar.Here’s what Nigel says about Panamanian Rosewood: Panamanian Rosewood is quite scarce but is one of the few timbers touted as a Rio substitute that comes close. In fact it comes very close in weight and texture and taptone. It differs mainly in appearance and smell where it has more in common with Cocobolo. It is more stable than many Rosewoods. Great stuff.
