The pickup is an authentic reproduction of the original 1930’s Gibson Charlie Christian pickup. Nearly all modern reproductions are substituting with compact alnico magnets for convenience, however this one notably features the real deal genuine full size cobalt steel magnets, made by CC Pickups in the UK. Jazz guitarist Sean McGowan plays a Brown CC Gold as well.

We have been consistently blown away by the work of Marco Bortolozzo, this example continues this pattern. A design that is modern, innovative and follows function. So well in fact it was sold before we could even list it.

A delightful first for us here at Dream Guitars. This RMAF (Rocky Mountain Archtop Festival) themed archtop from the workshop of Ben Kahler of Tikatoo Guitars is as wonderful and sonorously exciting as it is visually vibrant.Figured Birch for the back and sides along with Sitka Spruce for the top. Lots of incredible innovations here, in lieu of f holes we have sound ports on the upper bout that create an almost three dimensional saturation affect for the player, and a powerful sonic experience for the listener. Also interesting is Kahler’s use of Roasted Black Locust for the fingerboard and various other appointments. The rest of what makes this guitar unique quite frankly speaks for itself. We suspect that you’ll be hearing a lot more about this incredibly talented up and coming luthier!

In 2023 the Dream Guitars team attended the 2023 Woodstock Invitational Luthiers Showcase. There were so many excellent guitars present it proved to be quite difficult to keep track of it all. However a few guitars stood out. We are incredibly fortunate to have brought back with us a few of them, and this 00 from Julian Gaffney was at the top of our list. Lucky Strike Redwood, and Palo Escrito are the ingredients for this dynamic powerhouse of a guitar. As you will hear and see for yourself this instrument is an absolute masterpiece. For it to be a smaller sized instrument the sound and affect it has on player and listener alike is truly staggering. This guitar sold before we even listed it. That is an indication of a magical guitar.

What more could a guitar enthusiast want? Comfort, aesthetics, and tone all in equal parts. This guitar is evidence of why so many greats choose Marc’s instruments. While it alone will not make you sound like the fingerstyle master Don Ross, it’s certainly not a bad start.

This 2023 Brondel “The 18” is where it’s at. There is so much sound and feel with this OM decked out in Honduran Mahogany and Red Spruce. The only thing lacking with this guitar is “wanting.” Traditional appointments offer a glimpse into what it would be like to have a holy grail pre-war Martin guitar when it was brand new. And this one is already firing on all cylinders. A gorgeous sunburst on top and striking Honduran Mahogany for the back and sides make it a fingerstylist’s dream.
