Tyler Robbins continues to thread the needle with his R.2 model—slim proportions, yet a clear and crisp voice, with punch and projection. Whether you’re a old time player or you’re into the blues this machine will deliver! Cocobolo appointments that provide an exquisite contrast to the maple. This guitar is ready for the road, studio, or collection.

Brand New Halland DC-H African Blackwood/Lost Tunnel Redwood
This DC-H from Gage Halland is in the upper echelon of modern lutherie. Without a doubt one of the finest guitars we’ve had in the shop, Lost Tunnel Redwood on top and African Blackwood for the back and sides. This combination is one of ultimate tonal qualities, richness, warmth and idyllic clarity. Each individual note on this instrument has the viscosity of a full chord. Everyone here at Dream Guitars has been blown away by this guitar, and there is no higher praise our shop can offer. Aside from how it sounds it’s a sight for sore eyes — the natural beauty of the material that Gage uses so masterfully tells its own story. There is no need for additional ornation. As I write this I fight the urge to pick it up and play all day.

1993 Heritage Sweet 16, Maple/Spruce
This 1993 Sweet 16 from Heritage Guitars certainly is sweet, with 3o years of play time at time of publication — you can’t ask for a better “played in sound.” Gorgeously bursted Spruce and Maple, it looks as sweet as it sounds and feels. Don’t just take our word for it, listen for yourself!

1974 Somogyi “The First Ever” Jumbo Maple/Sitka Spruce
Here we have the genesis of Modern Lutherie, Ervin Somogyi’s #1. It is with delight and great honor for us to have this in the shop. It’s safe to say that this instrument is the catalyst that led to the development of the world of the modern fingerstlye string guitar. Recently restored by the master himself, this Jumbo from 1974 is reinvigorated are and ready to be played. Ervin tediously revoiced, refinished, and updated his #1. An updated neck profile, reshaped headstock, enlarged soundhole–essentially everything but the label was improved by Ervin. To have one of the most important steel string guitars revitalized and restored by the grandfather of modern lutherie himself is a magical thing. This Flamed Maple back and sides, and the Sitka Spruce top are original to the 1974 build. You can sense in this instrument that Ervin was developing something new, exploring uncharted territory and here marrying that with the best of his modern voicing techniques and aesthetics. This is where dream started.

2007 Greenfield G4, Koa/Sitka Spruce
Michael Greenfield’s guitars have been the choice for the likes of Andy McKee, Adam Miller, Pierre Bensusan, Brooke Miller, Charlie Hunter and Paul Stanley to name a few. This 2007 G4 clearly shows why these artists chose Greenfield. Power, clarity and sonority are all aplenty within this Koa and Sitka powerhouse. Aside from having gorgeously figured Koa, this instrument is sporting some rather delightful creature comforts i.e beveled armrest, and a soundport. If you’re looking for an instrument that will provide unlimited amounts of inspiration and prove to be a sound investment, this is your axe! What more can we say?

2017 Nashville Guitar Company D-42, Brazilian Rosewood/Adirondack Spruce
This one’s guaranteed to be the centerpiece of any collection. A 2017 NGC D-42 with Brazilian Rosewood and Spruce, plus snowflake position markers? Yes, please! Fit and finish are excellent across the board, and the voice is dialed in for a lovely balance across the registers. A very even response makes for a guitar that holds up well for strumming, and has the articulation to keep solos and lead work well defined. An easygoing setup to boot, and you’re looking at a powerhouse at your fingertips: our 2017 Nashville Guitar Co. D-42 from Marty Lanham.

We met Rosie Heydenrych of Turnstone Guitars at the 2023 Woodstock Invitational Luthiers Showcase, in upstate New York. The entire Dream Guitars team was blown away by the quality of craftsmanship. This 12 fret TM which is reminiscent of the OM body style has charming tone and musical clarity. Gold Evo Fretwire, ensuring a long lasting fret life. The elegant fit and finish of this instrument really summarizes the total quality of the workshop of Turnstone Guitars. From the fingerboard extension to the carved headstock, this guitar is stunning. Also worth noting the bracing of the Reserve Grade Indian Rosewood back and sides has cleating along the centerstrip made of mahogany, this is a unique and cutting edge design to both reinforce the structure and enhance the tone of this instrument. While we’re on the subject of woods the top is a stunning set of Master Grade German Spruce. No matter what style of play you’re after, whether it be the most traditional flatpicking or modern fingerstyle–anywhere in between–This guitar can and will deliver.

Brand New Keystone “Woodstock” SJ African Blackwood/German Spruce
This is a very special guitar, commemorating the Woodstock Invitational Luthiers Showcase held in Woodstock NY. Adorning inlay that represents the event; the bearsville barn, poignant wildlife motifs. As well as the autumnal colors associated with the event. This SJ from the workshop of Keisuke Nishi sounds even more beautiful than it looks. We are big fans of Keystone here at the shop, and this instrument is the pinnacle of Keisuke’s craft. African Blackwood and German Spruce are the ingredients for this masterpiece. Everything that you know and love about African Blackwood guitars is present in this instrument; rich and thick sonority. Low mid growls that one can only find in an African Blackwood guitar. Contrasted with the lustrous German Spruce for the top, which creates pristine clarity and tonal accuracy. You’ll notice the gorgeous rosette’s three dimensionality. This is an ultimate guitar, representing the ultimate gathering of (guitar).

2005 Marchione 15″ Archtop, Maple/European Spruce
Stephen Marchione brings us this 15″ Archtop, decked out in classic Marchione fashion. The sharpness of its florentine cutaway is representative of just how sharp this instrument looks. Beautiful Flamed Maple, throughout and European Spruce on top. Spretzel Locking tuners, floating bridge, single Marchione humbucker– this is a sublime example of an ultimate jazz box with plenty of gears for other styles.

Brand New Pagelli Spatial Radiation Parlor de Luxe Tobaco, Ziricote/Swiss Moonspruce
The workshop of Claudio and Claudia Pagelli produce some of the most out of the ordinary guitars that we see here at Dream Guitars. This Spatial Radiation Parlor de Luxe is no exception, donning a pinless bridge and fingerboard extention that travels on top the finished top are merely two features that makes this creature avant-garde. Oh and did we mention the soundhole(s)? A stunning Ziricote set for the back and sides fit to be a rorschach test, as well as Swiss Moonspruce top; Geared friction pegs, top off this instruments unique qualities.

We’ve got a juicy 2018 Goodall Grand Concert here in Quilted Mahogany and Adirondack Spruce that’s ready to get down with the business of making music. You can really dig into this one with a flatpick or a thumbpick, thanks to the Adi top, and throughout you’ll find striking Purpleheart appointments. The neck is half satin, and extra smooth to the touch. Just like the setup on top: smooth sailing from fret to shining EVO fret. Gotoh 510 tuners, Ameritage hardshell case—this 2018 Goodall is the complete package.

2021 Traphagen Classical, Brazilian Rosewood/Cedar
Dake Traphagen continues to be one of our favorite modern classical builders in the States. With works of functional art like this 2021 build in hand, how could we not? Gorgeously dark Brazilian Rosewood for the back and sides, warm Red Cedar on top, slightly elevated fingerboard with a subtle, 20” radius, 20th fret extension with Evo fretwire to boot. Two MOP wheels are inlaid into the Mammoth Ivory tieblock, adding some elegant spice to the dark, warm color palette present elsewhere in the build. Gold Scheller tuners set into Dake’s understated headstock shape set it all off.

Much like its namesake, this Maelstrom BC from Loïc Bortot of Bouchereau Guitars has power and intensity in spades. Fitting descriptors for a baritone of this calibre! Highlighting Granadillo for the back and sides, plus Sinker Redwood for the top, the voice marries warmth to that power for an enveloping quality that surrounds the player. Amboyna burl appointments provide a gorgeous aesthetic. Outlined with crisp Maple bindings to match the multi-piece Maple neck, this guitar has immense presence in both form and sound. Low end power and crystalline clear trebles.
