The Martin Carthy Signature model takes it’s inspiration from the 1950s 000-18 Martin loves so well. Martin faithfully recreated Carthy’s own guitar including the zero fret, smaller bridgeplate and 3 brass pins on the treble side of the bridge. The result is a very responsive guitar with great clarity and presence. This is #22 of just 84 made and these are now very hard to find.

Working with the Ancient and modern Kauri woods that grow only in his native New Zealand, luthier Laurie Williams craft that please the eye as much as the heart. The figure in the flamed variety of the ancient Kauri wood is simply astonishing. It appears to move in the light and has a natural golden color. The Kauri top is something Laurie is very proud of as it offers a sweet and clear tone that works equally well for fingerstyle and strumming. The lightweight milled X brace makes it very responsive. This guitar is offered at Laurie’s previous pricing and is therefore a wonderful value.
2000-2001 Lowden O-35C Brazilian/Red Cedar
This custom Lowden was built for recording artist and Fingerstyle Champ Todd Hallawell. As Todd tells it “I picked out the Brazilian in Arizona and sent it to George. I was on my way to gigs in Poland and Germany when we got a call from telling me that he was going to ship the guitar to me. So, we diverted to Ireland for a few days so I could fly home with it myself. George gave me that guitar when Kay and I were staying at his house. It surprised me a little when he handed it to me. Turns out he had been working on it at his own shop. I thought I was going to pick it up at the factory.” This is clearly a special Lowden crafted for a pro player. The wood is spectacular and it is louder and stronger than any we’ve played. This has that special something extra.

at one of Bob Benedetto’s guitar making classes in 1992 but the instrument was not completed. The parts were later brought to famed luthier Giuliano’s Guitar Shop in White Plains, NY. Giuliano, if you are not familiar with his name, was the one who refinished the famous D’Angelico “Fin” archtop owned by Scott Chinery. Giuliano assembled and finished the guitar to perfection. All the work is top notch especially Giuliano’s finish. The guitar is signed inside by Bob Benedetto as well as Bob Moyhchi and dated 9/92. An amazing story for a brilliant guitar.
