John Kinnaird pulled out all the stops on this beautiful Mini Jumbo (SJ). For starters there is a stunning set of figured Koa, which is become very hard to find. Then there is the sunburst Engelmann top, cutaway, armrest bevel, abalone top border and lovely inlays. The voice however is my favorite part, it’s full and rich with great Koa sparkle. Bruce Petros’ FS design incorporates a pre-stressed arched top for added clarity and strong trebles. The top is also graduated to produce a rounder bass tone. This particular guitar has lovely appointments including a rope style perfling, bound headstock and tortoise style pickguard. The sound is awe inspiring, clear, shimmering and perfectly balanced.

Here we have a like new D-41 from Martin Guitars. It is in perfect condition and has a fossil ivory nut and saddle which helps it really sing out. The 41 style includes a top border of abalone as well as Hexagon fret markers. Th body, neck and headstock are all bound as well. This guitar has been played just enough to be opening up and is ready for years of joyful music.

George told me about this special set of Walnut that was available and I immediately requested it for this guitar. It is simply stunning, there is a beautiful light center section and symmetrical figuring that is bookmatched. This set of woods really sets this guitar apart.

The smaller S body size from Lowden is really wonderful. It’s a beautiful intimate sound that boasts good volume and power thanks to the deeper body. The articulation is marvelous and the comfort is welcome. We ordered this one in Cocobolo and Cedar, one of our favorite tonal combinations from George and the gang.
