Tippin Dream Series #2 Blackwood/Adirondack ON TOUR WITH PETER CALO & CARLY SIMON Visit our Blog for road reports
This Tippin guitar is on tour with Peter Calo (playing with Carly Simon). Visit our blog to read Peter’s reports from the road. This tour includes a performance on Good Morning America and the Today Show both with Carly Simon. This is #2 of our Blackwood Dream Series from master luthier Bill Tippin and it has it all. It starts with premium 2 piece African Blackwood with superb color and grain. Rick Snakewood bindings join the African Blackwood to it’s master grade Adirondack Red Spruce top which brings with it power, clarity and all the headroom you can ask for. Bill also bound the neck and his elegant headstock with Snakewood as well. For those who don’t know Snakewood is extremely valuable and rare. To further accent this stunning instrument Bill added very line Mother Of Pearl Sparkle as the top border, rosette lines, backstrip and tail wedge accents. There is also a first fret flame made from real gem quality Opal border with M.O.P. Sparkle and this is echoed on the bottom of the backstrip as well. Finish touched include a bookmatched Brazilian Rosewood headplate and Gold Waverlys with Black Pearl Buttons. This is as good as it gets and the Bravado body, with it’s SJ size, puts forth a big, beautiful, balanced tone and the African Blackwood and Adirondack work perfectly together to create a lush but strong voice.

You probably have never seen Birdseye Brazilian so be sure to check this one out. It is a very rare set of Brazilian that is truly birdseye figure. It’s also tight grained and produces a bell-like tone with bass notes like a piano. Bill’s Crescendo design is a slightly oversized 000 but given a full 14 frets so you have no limitations. This is also a wonderfully collectible Tippin, but trust us, you’ll want to play it everyday…

This is a rare custom Tippin 000 12 Fret crafted from breathtaking Quilted African Mahogany and Carpathian Spruce. This is one of the prettiest 000s you’ll ever see. In Bill’s typical fashion he allowed the wood to shine on this one. This combination of woods give a great woody tone with good growl and lots of headroom. Carpathian behaves a lot like Adirondack Spruce. This is a superb guitar for blues, rags and Celtic music but you’ll use it for everything. A great Tippin.
