This 2003 GC comes to us with two decades’ of experience under its belt and a wide open, full throttle kind of responsiveness. Firecracker explosive! Wide awake and firing on all cylinders! Check out this 2009 Maingard GC if you’re looking for a livewire flattop that’s got headroom for a heavier attack, and sensitivity for a gentler touch as well. The Alpine Spruce top and African Blackwood back and sides form a dynamo for great projection, added color in the mids and bass, and the overall quickness that we find in every guitar from Marc. The GC body is 16 inches across the lower bout, but with the addition of both an arm bevel and a rib bevel, plus slender soft V neck profile, this Maingard remains easy to play. For this, and all the other reasons above, you won’t be able to put it down for long.

A rare first for us here at Dream Guitars, a pristine 2021 Linda Manzer 16″ Archtop. Manzer has become synonymous with jazz music legends like Ted Ludwig and Julian Lage, among others, and when you play this instrument it is no surprise as to why. Understated elegance, and comfort; this guitar is a polyphonic playground. An Archtop sporting a soundport, that not only gives you “a little more of me in the monitor,” it also gives you a glimpse into the beautiful construction of this instrument. A classic combination of Maple and Spruce, with all the modern creature comforts. While this guitar may be built as an all-acoustic archtop, it is still quite electrifying. Comes safe and sound in a Hoffee Roadie flight case.

From 2020, this special edition Martin D-42 ‘Purple’ is #25 of 100. Made of Flamed Myrtle and Engelmann Spruce, this guitar stands out in the C.F. Martin lineup, not only because of the unique wood combination but also because of the ornamentation of this instrument. Abalone Purple Martin birds alongside abalone Mountain Laurel flowers make this instrument quite a sight to behold. As well as being visually striking, the sound isn’t quite what one expects from a Martin Dreadnought—sweet, round, and full. This guitar can be played lightly and still have power and depth.

Few names are so well recognized in popular music as David Gilmour of Pink Floyd fame. In 2021, Martin collaborated with Mr. Gilmour for an exclusive Signature Edition run of 250 guitars. These were soon all snatched up, but we’ve managed to land one, no. 27, here in the shop.
The David Gilmour signature models are the first D-35s ever made with neck, back and sides of Sinker Mahogany, chosen by David for its warm, rich tones and exquisitely beautiful grain. VTS Adirondack Spruce on top to be broken in and wide awake right out of the gate. A bespoke neck shape & fingerboard pattern were crafted to David’s specification for this guitar, while a special headstamp is featured on the reverse of the headstock. Every label was hand-signed by David; look into the soundhole and you’ll find his very hand just below “#27.” Additionally, we have included a customized Elliott capo engraved with the words, “Gilmour D-35,” to make this most exclusive Martin just a little bit more rare.

Where to begin? This 1934 Martin 000-28 has stood the test of time in mores ways that one. We love seeing a guitar of vintage such as this come through the shop, particularly when it shows wear in all the right places. It sounds amazing now and frankly appears to have always sounded so. 89 years has really allowed this instrument to open up, the tight grain of the Adirondack Spruce, and the uniformity of the Brazilian Rosewood almost give away the incredible timbre of this instrument. This is the OG of fingerstyle guitars and when you pick this up it is obvious as to why greats such as Eric Clapton, John Mayer, and so many others have made this their signature acoustic. What more could anyone want in a vintage acoustic guitar.

In a word, gorgeous. Howard Klepper pulled off an excellent conversion job with this 2013 00-40 which began life in 1960 as a Martin 00-28G. Accordingly, quarter sawn Brazilian Rosewood with some delectable feathered figuring at the bout ends, with a new Red Spruce top and 14-fret neck. Klepper added 40-style Abalone trim along the top, as well as diamonds & snowflakes position markers, Rosewood bridge, and Ivoroid bindings. A light brown shade top finish pairs up with the richness of the Brazilian sides to a T.

The late Lance McCollum left us in the guitar world with an incredible body of work, from terz guitars to harp guitars and everything in between—this small-bodied Meghann model is right smack in that in-between spot: it’s got great projection and power when you lean in, without losing any of the clarity and intimacy of a smaller instrument. Walnut body with German Spruce on top gives an even midrange and crisp trebles plus sweet note definition across the range, and the fact that this McCollum Meaghan comes to us from 1997 means it’s opened up for over two decades—and it shows in the lively character of the voice. This beauty is also outfitted wiith a Highlander IP-2 dual source pickup system to carry you faithfully on to the stage.
