Here at Dream Guitars we hold Ervin Somogyi, the grandfather of modern fingerstyle lutherie, in the highest esteem. How could we not? His designs and techniques have helped pave the way for an entirely new style of responsive guitar. So it comes as a special honor to have this 2016 OM model in our hands today. This is the second of a trio of bespoke builds Ervin crafted for a client, each featuring a unique patio stone headplate with Rodgers tuners, carved rosette, and sail boat inlaid at the heel. Brazilian Rosewood back and sides pairs with European Spruce on top with subtle bearclaw figuring, and vertical Abalone bar inlays along the fingerboard. The carved rosette is a carp arcing along the top, backed with red washi paper.

I love Ervin's OM body shape, which is slightly bigger than a Martin-style OM. Combined with Ervin's magical voicing, it makes for a complete guitar with equal amounts of, power, clarity, warmth, and beauty. They inspire, which is why he's considered one of the greatest masters of fingerstyle guitar design. 
Round, deliciously complex, pretty much perfect. Ervin's trademark bass response is here in full force, and the trebles are clear and hefty to match--plus the mids are chocolate mousse rich. - Accessories
