R.E. Phillips
Since 1992, R.E. Phillips has been handcrafting unique metal and wood bodied resonator instruments, drawing on the experiences of 28 years of metal and woodworking. Ron has had the opportunity to build for many of the the great players of the Country Blues genre. Artists include the late John Jackson and John Cephas, Del Rey, Steve James, Robert Lowery, Andra Faye, Annie Raines, Cathy Fink and many more. While his instruments use similar materials and construction to the guitars of the 1920s, the resemblance ends there. All the designs are inspired by his great interest in the Art Deco period. This results in instruments that are unique.
Since 1992, I have been handcrafting unique metal and wood bodied resonator instruments. I've had the opportunity to build for many of the great players of the Country Blues genre. While my instruments use similar materials and construction to the guitars of the 1920’s, the resemblance ends there – All the designs are inspired by my great interest in the Art Deco period. This results in instruments that are unique, visually and in tone production.

I own one of his silver parlors, and not a day goes by that I don't play it. Ron's building some of the finest custom resonator guitars on the market today.
