Description

Just over 200 Super 300s were ever made by Gibson Guitars. The Super 300 is essentially identical to a super 400 but a bit more understated with regard to trim. This beauty from 1950 is in excellent condition and the tone is magical. You can just imagine some of the juke joints it's been in. The tobacco burst is warm and inviting and the maple back has nice figure as does the tiger striped neck. The neck finish is worn to that perfect feel of a vintage guitar with just enough miles on it. Outstanding...

It's exciting to us to hold a vintage guitar and consider what stories it could tell. I imagine this guitar might have played in a New York club or in a roadside joint. The years have been kind to it and it's in beautiful condition and plays perfectly. Gibson has always had the best tobacco sunburst and this one is a beauty. The 18" body really puts out a wonderful acoustic tone, if you've ever stood in front of a Super 300 or 400 you know what I mean. This is a very rare guitar as well with just over 200 made between 1948 and 1955. So collectors and players alike with love this Gibson Archtop Super 300!
