This is a limited edition replica of the first archtop guitar. Made famous by the first jazz guitarist, Eddie Lang and designed by Lloyd Loar, father of the F-5 mandolin. Lloyd Loar brought several innovations to the Gibson product line, including f-hole, longitudinal tone bars, graduated tops and backs, longer playable necks, and resonance tuning. The Historic Reissue 1934 L-5 accurately recreates one of Lloyd Loar’s crowning achievements. Many feel this model is the single most elegant guitar Gibson ever designed.

Gibson made very few of these 1934 L-5 guitars and they are highly sought after because frankly they sound amazing. This one is super loud and responsive and very comfortable to hold. As Al said the fat Gibson neck is a joy to play. This is a very special Gibson Archtop guitar.
The neck has that rounded shape that I love so much on the old L-5 Gibsons. This one makes you feel like you've gone back in time. A very cool reissue.
