2015 15″ Archtop from Maegen Wells, sporting a Bartolini Johnny Smith humbucker, Ebony and Koa appointments throughout, and a custom bone inlay on the headstock by Will Hylton. Finished in Nitrocellulose Lacquer with a Dark Orange Cherry Burst stain. Aluminum Tubing side dots—this guitar is as much fun to look upon as it is to play, and it certainly is fun to play. The top is Sitka Spruce, the back is Big Leaf Maple, and the sides are Figured Koa. A very uncommon yet radically cool feature set on this instrument. The voice is complex, yet surprisingly applicable to just about any musical situation.

This guitar is overflowing with character and depth. Whether it’s the inspired combination of tonewoods, the voice of the pickup, or Maegen’s unmistakable touch—more likely all of the above and then some—it’s got a magic that’s hard to put into words. I’d be thrilled to keep this one for myself. 
We share the same last name, so maybe I was always going to be biased--but, what a delight of a guitar. This Maegen Wells plays and feels like so much more than a strictly-jazz archtop. I'm having even more fun tuning down and exploring some fingerstyle tunes and arrangements. The Sunburst and Ebony hardware are perfect complements to the dark, moody voice. 1 in stock
