The maple bindings, part of the 3 piece maple/ebony purfling/binding setup, are cut from the same piece of wood as the sides, matching up the curl where feasible.”
You may not realize just how hard it is to build an archtop guitar that has an energetic top that produces a strong, beautiful voice. But take it from us, it's very difficult. But luckily not for Brian Kingston of BCKingston Guitars. In his 30+ year career it is second nature to him. This CR-E is a premiere example of what an Archtop should sound like. Acoustically it is huge and rich, plugged in it's the same only louder. Just amazing amounts of tone at a wonderful price point as well. 
This guitar has that classic archtop tone and is very lively. The flamed maple is gorgeous and the pickup is one of the best you can get for an archtop. I recorded the audio sample through a AER Compact 60 amplifier and mixed the amplified sound with the acoustic sound of the guitar. Both of the pickup controls, which are conveniently hidden under the pickguard and easy to access, were set wide open for volume and tone. | Scale Length | 25 in |
