We commissioned this build on behalf of one of our clients (give us a shout if you’d like a bespoke Matsuda of your own), who loved Michi’s Deconstruction aesthetics but wanted to take it in a new direction. Enter: the Double Neck Deconstruction. Two necks designed with two playing styles in mind, the bottom set up for plucking and strumming, the top for tapping. Additionally, the bottom neck features a custom cittern-style bridge, whereas the top neck is outfitted with a hinged string damper at the nut. The assembled body of the instrument is decoupled from the acoustic top to allow it to vibrate freely, and an array of pickups across the arrangement allow for a wide range of setups heading out to the amp.

Here's one for the history books. We were honored to team up with Michi Matsuda to custom build yet another wondrous instrument with no borders. Thus, this double neck guitar with one neck dedicated to tap style playing and the other set up with a sitar-style bridge. This is a great example of what we do here Dream Guitars. We literally bring your dreams to life by working closely with you and the maker to allow them to do their magic on your behalf. Humbled and honored to present this beauty.
