Ringing in the rosette is something unexpected for Ryan guitars; not the usual Abalone but rare and glittering Brown Lip Pearl! In DADGAD, DADFAD, Open G or Standard, this Mission Grand Concert delivers rich bass notes and round, shimmery trebles that envelop the player. And when not in use this Ryan is supremely protected by its Calton flight case.

We have not seen many African Blackwood guitars from Kevin Ryan over the years. We are sure loving this one. African Blackwood offers a beauty in the low midrange that is unequaled. On top you get the clarity and overtones similar to Brazilian Rosewood as well. Just a wonderful wood that is becoming one of the most popular amongst our clients. This guitar from 1998 is well cared for and in the Mission Grand Concert size it's extremely versatile as well. 
The years have done right by this Ryan. Great bloom, glassy midrange, and a minutely fuller neck profile than Kevin's recent builds that fits my hands perfectly. 
This is very similar to one I used to own which was a truly great guitar. The late '90s were good years for guitars from Kevin Ryan and Jim Olson. Maybe it's just the age, but each one that I've played from that era really stands out as being excellent in every way. | Scale Length | 25.75 in |
