Jeff Bamburg’s OMB model comes to us as a responsive midsize guitar that soaks up open tunings and keeps the notes crisp and lively with a cantilevered neck and premium tonewoods. Gorgeous Bearclaw Sitka Spruce on top is here paired with Walnut back and sides and Curly Maple bindings, and we found the Walnut lent a dry, woody flavor to the voice that kept the mids and basses from sounding muddy when we went down to Open G. Rather, we found this 2009 OMB articulate and well-defined when we did so. Again, it’s easy to lose track of time with a responsive and engrossing guitar like this Bamburg in your lap. And we can’t think of a better recommendation than that.
