Warm like whiskey in your belly. Check out this 2012 Bourgeois Custom OMS if you’re looking for a resonant, warm fingerstyle guitar. Gorgeous Flamed Koa back and sides, combined with a Redwood top, make for lots of resonance and overtones. Slotted headstock with Waverly tuners, MOP inlays along the fretboard and Abalone top trim. Cocobolo Rosewood bindings round out the image. We found this Bourgeois soaked up open tunings handily; it was easy to lose track of time once it really gets going.

I really love Koa guitars that are paired with a softer top. Here Dana Bourgeois chose Redwood and it worked to perfection. You get the underlying clarity and brilliance of Koa with the added warmth and richness of Redwood. The sound of this guitar is as beautiful as its appearance which is elegant from head to toe. Just wonderful.
