Here’s a beauty that’s come back around: our first Dream Series 000-14BA from Preston Thompson is available from 2016! We commissioned this build with Brazilian Rosewood from our personal stash which is here paired with an Adirondack Spruce top and dark sunburst. 45-style backstrip, herringbone trim, soft V neck and an Abalone torch headstock inlay.
A powerhouse in standard tuning, this PKT 000-14BA also sounds ferocious in altered tuning fingerstyle pieces. 25.4″ scale to keep those trebles crisp and tasty, and playability is buttery to boot.

I came across five or six matching sets of this Brazilian to be built into various Dream Series guitars. Each has had a similar bell-like quality, and it's been fascinating to see how that manifests each time. With this 000-14BA it comes out across the board, but in particular with the trebles; there's a glassy band of overtones that swell after a moment. This guitar is delicious in every respect. Update in 2020: this guitar has really opened up in four years. The Adirondack top now is very colorful with great dynamic range, there’s nothing like a mature guitar crafted from Brazilian Rosewood and Adirondack Spruce, especially in the hands of the crew at Preston Thompson Guitars. 
I'm somewhat prejudiced toward Preston Thompson guitars since I own one myself. He really knows how to achieve that "Golden Era" sound with his instruments. The woods used and the finishing recall the best of the best. This 000 has that tone and punch that you are looking for from a great 14-fret 000 and the standard scale length gives it the feel of a great OM as well. The vintage style sunburst tops it all off and with the addition of Brazilian Rosewood binding it has a touch of elegance that is quite nice. | Scale Length | 25.4000 in |
