We’re excited to offer our first Peggy White guitar–so excited we went ahead and sold it before it even arrived! We were able to hold onto it for a few days in order to record and photograph this beauty before sending it on its way to its new home. We also took advantage of the opportunity to put this Premier model through its paces, and it more than met our highest expectations. Peggy was able to pair the dark, somber timbre of African Blackwood with the creamy, transparent tone of an Italian Spruce top–perfect for the fingerstylist with exacting needs for glassy string-to-string separation and voluminous sustain. The precisely balanced voice was a great fit for lowered tunings; all the way into CGD#FA#D.
Peggy is a professional musician, and that’s always a good sign in our book since that pretty much guarantees as a luthier they’ll already possess a finely tuned ear–and Peggy more than lives up to that expectation. Visually, Peggy’s got some exciting tricks up her sleeve, here employing a Kandinsky motif in here rosette, end graft, and backstrip for an effect that’s part homage, part original artistic statement. Are we excited for the next Peggy White to come our way? You can bet your favorite flatpick on it.
