This latest Dream Series comes in Bruce’s JB-15 package with an assymetrical body, subtle 1/2 inch multiscale fretboard, our very own Brazilian Rosewood and a creamy set of Italian Spruce from Bruce’s private stash. The voice balances between clarity in the bass and juicy overtones in the trebles, and the slight multiscale makes for great play feel and intonation in lowered tunings–playing in DADGAD and beyond is an exercise in ease. Even though it’s brand new, this beauty already boasts an airy and opened up tone to rival an older, played-in instrument.
I've been a big fan of Bruce's work for some time, and this is one of the most responsive I've ever seen. I'm sure it's more than just our awesome Brazilian Rosewood at play here, what with Bruce's years of experience and great ear poured into every aspect of the build. This is an amazing guitar. It's light and the tension feels perfect, even in standard tuning. The multiscale is subtle but effective at keeping the tension of the lower strings higher when tuning down to altered tunings. The tone is reminiscent of the best pre-war Martin guitars I've played.
