The folks at McPherson Guitars continue to improve on their powerhouse designs. This 2019 MG-4.5XP is incredible. Myrtlewood back and sides with Adirondack Spruce on top and an L.R. Baggs Element pickup to boot, this McPherson has crisp definition and the calibre of clear to let big chords ring out in all their complexity; a fingerstyle finery. It handles C# tuning like a champ while retaining a snappy bass response and easy playability. From head to toe, this McPherson is proof that the state of modern lutherie has never been better.

Here we have a virtually unplayed and very beautiful Myrtlewood-and-Adirondack guitar from McPherson. We are fans of Myrtlewood here in the shop, it offers some of the openness and clarity of Mahogany with powerful bass push, as well as a wonderful separation between notes. And it's certainly is easy on the eyes as well. This one’s a great strummer and would suit a singer-songwriter really well.
