Alan is an expert in the physics of sound, or soundwave dynamics, and it shows with this small-bodied beauty. With a prominent midrange attack and clear trebles, this would make an excellent guitar for recording or cutting through in a group setting. The tone is very pleasant and balanced, with enough low mid punch to add some nice depth to the overall sound. The Myrtle Alan used here is outstanding, with intense figure that glows with an inner fire. And to top it off, he’s has included two beautiful Celtic inlays at the 5th and twelfth frets.
I was immediately impressed with the beauty of the tonewood choices on this 000-14 model by Alan Carruth. But it's the clarity and sustain of the guitar that really got my attention. Notes spring from the soundboard, then linger and dance in the air, inspiring the player to delve deeper, to explore and create. A real beauty.
