We recently had a house concert with Steve Baughman where he played his own Circa guitar and it sounded gorgeous. This D-28 in Red Spruce and Madagascar Rosewood is a great representation of the incredibly high bar that John sets in his building, being flawless in tone and build quality. The basses roar and are tempered expertly by the fat singing trebles. This is an exceptional pre war style dread from a builder at the very top of the game!
I have been a fan of Johns for a while now, the man really knows what he is doing. Without exception his guitars are flawless, he is one of the most skilled builders around. Then there is that tone, fat and warm, but powerful and not in the least muddy. 
Possibly the best sounding D-28 I've ever played, this guitar outshines even the nicest vintage Dreads that I've heard. It's very playable as well and is loud and punchy with lots of extra headroom for playing in an ensemble. This is a great flatpicking guitar.
