This is what mahogany is all about. Paired here with Adirondack it gives this guitar multiple gears. Played sweetly you get mahogany’s wonderful clarity and breath but push it a bit and up comes a powerful throaty growl. The Adirondack is perfect on top and adds sparkle and tons of headroom. This is a guitar that can easily handle lots of terrain. We love the unique rosette and Ed’s always understated and elegant appointments. One serious axe.
Ed has found a voice that is unique and enchanting. Every one of his guitars moves me. Somehow he achieves great clarity but with every string being as full bodied as it can be. This is a superb Claxton, I believe the wood combination adds another dimension to this one. It can sounds as sweet as it looks, but it can also show some real attitude when you drive it. This beauty is as happy to play Ramblin' Thomas as it is Martin Simpson or, what's his name, oh yeh Al Petteway. Another one I'd surely keep if I didn't have children.
