The Collings 01A is highly sought after by those seeking a small body, parlor sized guitar with a big voice. This one has the desirable Varnish finish that allows all the tone and power from the Mahogany and Adirondack Red Spruce body to come through. This is a great wood combination for Blues, Rags and Old Time, but also has great clarity for Celtic and modern Fingerstyle pieces. Its simple appointments will appeal to the traditionalist and it also makes these Collings guitars a wonderful value. This one has some superficial top wear but it also has the great voice that comes from playing in a Red Spruce guitar.

The varnish finish allows the guitar to sing fully and it's a strong one. If you've ever met a small dog, you know how loud they can bark. The wood combination is great for blues, rags, etc. but I enjoy playing just about anything on this one. The playability is great and it's already very open sounding. The small shape makes it easy to travel with as well, so you can take it with you this summer season.
