Here is a nicely appointed Collings DS-41 from 1995, a time when Collings seem to really have something extra special. This one certainly has mojo, it’s loud and energetic and just sounds mature and open. It has a lovely Torch headplate, 42 Style Snowflake Markers, a full abalone top border and rosette. Ivoroid bindings from head to to and a slothead complete the vintage vibe on this one. The DS features a wide 12 fret neck that makes it a gem for fingerstyle, but you can strum and flatpick this one all day. It’s in excellent shape and better than new because of it’s played in tone. Don’t miss this great Collings.
My favorite Collings seem to all be from the early and mid 1990s. It's probably just because they are aged and played in, but this one is really alive in your hands. I love the wide fingerboard and right hand spacing for fingerstyle and it's stunning from head to toe.
