For 15 years he was the sole apprentice in Stefan Sobell’s shop in England. If you’ve heard Martin Simpson’s music than you know that Sobell sound. Nigel’s guitars have that essence but he is making refinements and finding his very own voice that is equally unique and in some ways more american. This Model C is very special with big, bold bass notes and sweet rosewood trebles.
What a guitar��� Superb projection and separation. The trebles are very remeniscent of my Sobell Model 1 but the bass is big and round and together they create an awesome sound. Just listen to the audio clip. This is a guitar that offers elegant European styling, understated beauty and top shelf tone. The zero fret offers superb clarity while the split saddle design make for excellent intonation in all tunings. This guitar loves alternate tunings as well as standard and is extremely versatile.
