Here’s another lovely Grand Concert from James Goodall’s shop. Its Brazilian rosewood back and sides shimmer with beautiful red highlights. It’s fine-grained Italian spruce top is framed by highly figured curly maple binding. The balance here is near perfect, with clear and present bases, warm mids, and the ringing highs Goodall’s are known for. We imagine fingerpickers and strummers particularly digging this one, but single line players will appreciate it as well.
This instrument beautifully balances deep full-body resonance with top-end sparkle. Those pretty, wet Goodall overtones that we all love are here in abundance. With its satin neck, this guitar plays very well, and the beautiful maple binding throughout provides a striking contrast with its darker, deeper woods.
