Greven nailed it when he named this one the J-35 “New Vintage.” Its deep, toasty sunburst and warm and inviting vibe bring to mind an old friend’s Gibson that I seriously coveted back in the sixties. Its mahogany back and sides pair with an Adirondack red spruce top to produce excellent balance, cut, and response. The mids and trebles are rich and throaty enough to hold your own in a crowd, and the bass wonderfully articulate.
What a beautifully well rounded instrument! In this one, flatpickers will find all the power, cut, and responsiveness they're looking for, while strummers will find plenty of shimmer and shine. Fingerpickers will enjoy this slope's intimate side as well. Playability here is top notch on a guitar that would be at home on stage, in the studio, or on your front porch. 
I was going to do a flatpicking sample for this guitar because it sounds great flatpicked, but then I thought the wide neck might appeal to fingerpickers. It sounds great either way and it has that vintage Gibson look to it. | Scale Length | 25.4 in |
