This A-45 is from the Premium line of Lakewood Guitars, made in Germany. This is a custom small body guitar crafted from striking Ziricote wood which is known for being punchy and brilliant. It’s paired here with European Spruce which is strong and versatile. These woods combine here for strong voice with lots of projection. It’s also a 12 Fretter so it really moves the top. This guitar seems to excel at blues and Jazz, there a strong midrange that really pushes 7th and 9th chords with prowess. Single note work leaps off the soundboard and makes this a great lead guitar as well. There is a soundport and slotted headstock and full Maple body bindings making this beautiful and practical.
I was taken by surprise with this one, the voice is so loud and strong it made me want to play blues and Jazz. The combination of it being a 12 Fretter with Ziricote, European Spruce and having a soundport makes this thing a strong small body. This will appeal to players of blues, Jazz or any style where strong tone in an easy to hold package is appealing. It's also gorgeous with dramatic Ziricote and a slotted headstock.
