This here is an incredibly well thought out guitar: a Martin D-18 Authentic made to their 1937 specs, updated with a 1 3/4″ nut and 2 1/4″ string spacing. It has the best of both worlds – vintage tone and modern feel and playability! The notes seem to just leap out of this one, with all the power and control that you would want and expect from a Mahogany and Adirondack (Red) Spruce guitar built to the same specs as one of Martin’s legendary prewar instruments, hide glue, forward shifted bracing, scalloping and all.
Whoever convinced the guys and gals at Martin to build this guitar is a genius. So many guitarists love the prewar voice but are looking for a modern neck width. This is the guitar that they've been dreaming of, but minus the prewar pricing premium! Come try it while it's still around...
