This beautiful McAlister OM comes to us from a well known collector and it is dressed in some of the finest examples of Brazilian Rosewood and European Spruce that you’ll find anywhere. The quality of the wood on this guitar is outstanding and it is tangible in the voice of this instrument. The notes push their way out of the soundhole and fill the room easily. This is a strong guitar with a satisfying blend of modern voicing and prewar power that makes it stand out. This is a perfect fingerstyle guitar that is versatile enough for any style you can throw at it.
There is a lot of energy in this guitar. The notes blossom and swell beautifully and it is loud with tremendous sustain as well. It's no surprise really because the woods or topnotch. The Brazilian is straight grained and dark and the Euro top has abundant silking, a sure sign of quality. I put this one in the ultra-versatile category because it's loud and strong, but also beautiful and warm and you can pull what you want from it but adjusting your technique. Great guitar.
