Here we have a McPherson 4.0XP, featuring an incredibly figured set of Bubinga back and sides and a straight-grained Redwood top. The flamed Koa binding perfectly offsets the top and back, making it a real eye-catcher. Its rich bass and balanced, reactive trebles give this instrument a great energy and tone. It boasts a strong, robust voice, projecting powerfully, yet smoothly, whether picked or strummed. And with the added sloped cutaway you have full fingerboard access to the upper register!
I had to take a moment to catch my breath when I first saw this guitar. The intricately figured Bubinga back and sides are some of the nicest you'll ever see, and when paired with the Redwood top it makes for a deadly tonal combination. The pairing gives this instrument a rich, powerful voice that just makes me want to play more and more. Whether strumming or playing fingerstyle, you can't go wrong with this guitar.
