The Adirondack Spruce used here is an essential ingredient in achieving that tone, and the Hormigo Leo uses for back and sides imparts a flavor somewhere between Mahogany and Rosewood. The result is all the classic tone and playability of a pre-war Dread, with a slightly modern twist. The twelve-fret design places the bridge further back in the lower bout, sweetening the bass response and providing greater volume.
