We’ve been waiting a long time for this custom Somogyi Modified Dreadnought. We ordered it over 2 years ago, but it was worth the wait. Every time we play a new Somogyi we are reminded that Ervin is an original, one of the true masters of luthery and one who has created a voice rather than replicating others. This is one of the very first Somogyi guitars to offer Ervin’s new Stone Path inlays and we find it nothing less than striking. It’s the perfect accent for this extremely dark and rich Brazilian Rosewood and perfect European Spruce top. This is as fine a guitar as we will ever have, it’s breathtaking to behold and to hear, simple magic from the hands of the master….
It's easy to see why the Mod D is so popular, in it Ervin has created a true fingerstyle Dreadnought guitar. You get the big, round bass of a Dread, but the Somogyi Trebles have no trouble keeping up with their extraordinary projection and loudness. Each string of a Somogyi feels like an instrument unto itself, the separation and clarity are breathtaking. Ervin really wanted to do some new inlay designs and we are thrilled to be among the first to have them. This Stone Path rosette and fretboard inlay is astonishing, shades of blue and grey accented with subtle green perflings. This is a very unique custom Somogyi and we feel lucky to have it for you. 
I love the new "Stone Path" inlay that Ervin has come up with. It's different and very artistic. The guitar is set up for flatpicking or fingerpicking and feels very comfortable played either way. The voice is big and clear, just great. | Scale Length | 25 in |
