This prototype was the beginning and now Bill is regularly making wonderful Baritone guitars. This one features a relatively short 27″ scale which makes it ideal for C or B tunings depending on the string gauges employed and it also makes for a very easy reach. Guitarist seeking the lower voice will love this. It was made for the Newport Guitar Festival in 2006 and features beautiful Brazilian Rosewood coupled with a stunning German top. Custom purflings, bindings and fret markers dress it in the elegance of natural wood appointments.
I'm a baritone player and lover and it's easy to understand why when you hear a guitar like this. Everything you know on guitar transfers directly over but into the sweet lower register. As a singer I've found with minor transposing effort I've finally found the perfect keys and register to sing my songs on the Baritone. Audiences just love when I play mine, it gives them a refreshing sound to enjoy. Bill Tippin has a tremendous reputation for the finest quality workmanship you'll find. Just look at the hand made purflings and appointments on this guitar. Everything done to perfection. The 27" scale is very accessible and makes this one of the easiest playing Baritones you'll find.
