Dake Traphagen has been building concert guitars for the likes of Scott Tennant and Pepe Romero for decades, but to our delight he now also makes steel string guitars. This Slope D is one we commissioned and we feel Dake’s version of this design offers a fresh and extremely versatile instrument. There is power and headroom to spare for full on flatpicking, but you also get a much richer and fuller tone than traditional dreads. Fingerpickers who like a big voice will love this one as well. The premium Brazilian Rosewood and Adirondack top that Dake selected are spectacular.
We've sat with some great players and watched as they compare old Martins, Bourgeois and other great Dreads to these new Traphagen guitars and every time the players remark on the richness and extra depth and body that the Trahagen voice contains. It's an inspiring sound and the craftsmenship is excellent as expected from a builder with Dake's experience. 
This Traphagen slope D is the truly amazing. There aren't many guitars that can hold a candle to this one. I find it to be an inspiring fingerstyle guitar, but flexible enough to play as a flatpicking guitar as well. | Scale Length | 25.5000 in |
