We custom ordered this Veillette High Tuned 12 string Gryphon with everything you could ask for. It starts with mahogany and spruce for the body, we then added a deep red sunburst, onboared DTAR Wavelenght 18v pickup system and an onboard tuner that is super easy to use. We finished it off with an upgrade to a hardshell case. We absolutely love this design by Joe Veillette, imagine a glorious sounding 12 string capoed at the 10th fret. That what you get hear, a short scale, easy to play unison 12 string (no octaves), that’s tuned high to D. The result is a huge and beautiful double course sound, like a mandolin only richer and warmer. Any guitarist can play it, using everything you already know, but you’ll get a fresh sound that will inspire you and your band.
I'm planning to get one of these myself. Everytime I touch one I'm blown away. The whole idea of this instrument is perfect. It's something we all can play immediately but that has such a unique sound that it will take you places musically you might not go otherwise. Unison strings tuned up to high D(like the 10th fret of a guitar), the sound is magical, simply magical....
