His Smoothtalker SSC2 design concept features very stiff back and sides, not unlike what many modern makers are doing these days, and a fan braced Spruce top that because of the body design is extremely lively and responsive. The result of this design is an instrument with serious projection and extreme clarity. The trebles strings simply soar, with more density and volume than the average guitar. The bass is focused and clear also with profound power. The Smoothtalker is extremely versatile and well suited for Blues, Jazz and any style where a strong fundamental and power are required. We even had fun playing classical and Flamenco on it. The Smoothtalker also comes outfitted with a Baggs Active Element so it’s ready for the stage. The entire Smooth Talker design is very different. Very stiff sides, oval soundboard with grain across the top, suspension bridge system. This all adds up to strong projection like a banjo but with a true acoustic guitar sound. These are awesome guitars for players of single line music, lead players, fingerstyle players, Jazz players. They also have just enough of a unique voice to add a great color to recordings. Try something exciting!
